I'm not interested in starting areas, opinions on character development, styles of play, combat, etc. I am interested in ENDGAME. I am not interested in how much you like it. I only wish to know specifics please about the game not you.
AoC had a wonderful starting area. The levels were adequate and the first 20 levels are very nice and enjoyable to experience with a well laid out play area and storyline. After that the game sux bawls so bad it was a waste of time going beyond the starter area. Practically none of the items promised for endgame existed at launch.
I am curious about what a lvl 40 character will do 2 weeks after launch. Why do I say 2 weeks after launch, i expect to see numerous people lvl 40 after 2 weeks. So again my question for all the fanbois who refuse to read past the first line of text, I'm only interested in ENDGAME. What is it like for those that have been there?
Thanks for your input if you choose to answer my question.

Funnily enough, this part is still under NDA
Wrong.
Just go to http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59215
And you have a video of Tier 4 (the last tier in the game).
The NDA is lifted on anything that has been tested in the past, including tier 4 and city sieges. You can find videos of city sieges as well. What's "currently" being tested by the Elder testers is still under NDA.
To answer your question about endgame. Once you reach rank 40, there are still renown ranks. You gain them as you gain ranks of course, but there are 80 renown ranks. There's also what's known as "renown rank" gear. Gear you get for having a particular renown rank. So in the beginning of the game you can get RR 6 gear from a Renown merchant.
On top of that there are a few high level dungeons with three wings. Each wing has a boss at the end, and you don't have to do the entire dungeon in one sitting. You can complete a wing, then come back and complete the next one, and then the final one in three separate sittings.
In a couple of these the dungeon itself isn't instanced, but the boss fights are.
There's also the city sieges. There's plenty to do once you hit endgame, and it's all been tested, and you can find videos of it being tested, minus probably the dungeons.

I will try to shed some light on what the endgame is for me in WAR. Some key things that are going to require tons of effort and a lot of server presence is:
That is just to name a few, I could go on for a longtime but will leave it at that as I make my point.

...I'm in your panties
Thank you very much Checkthis500 that is what I was looking for as an answer. Appreciate it!!
Pinkcat thank you as well, gives me some things to research.
ZERG, PvP, RvR and hummm more ZERG PvP and RvR.
So basically you're going to every thread and spouting information about a game which you obviously have no experience with.
I see now, and I know to ignore any posts you make in the future.

Mm yeh that sounds crap, what do you want from end game? IMO RVR is a never ending fight, you want a never ending pve Raid?
Fair nuff.
Wrong.
Oops, I was thinking endgame tier 40 RR 80 and city sieges and king fights and such. The rest was a bit too basic so I assumed too much

none of that is covered by the NDA...all of it has been tested previously. Any information related to those topics that has been gleened from the Elder server how ever IS covered by the NDA.
It is a PvP game. PvP. PvP. PvP. PvP.
Finally there is a company that developed a non stop PvP game. The other games I play I only log in to PvP.
So, I am happy.
This guy is jealous he doesn't have a fun new MMO to play and is stuck with old shit.

Well I am not sure endgame in WAR will meet your idea of endgame.
I assume when you are thinking of end game it means getting the best gear and running the very highest echelon of
Apparently the best stuff is available in a City Seige. Once a City has fallen to the enemy the enemy has some amount of time (maybe 24 hours not confirmed yet) to take advantage of various PvE things available. This can be stuff like a high level dungeon in the sewers, perhaps Nurgle or Skaven. Or a raid encounter with the King.
So the thing is there is PvE end game stuff that is fairly standard end-game like stuff. But here is the catch. Its linked to the RvR and Mythic has said they really do not expect a City Siege to happen more than once a month. Technically you do not have to do the RvR but it is part of the endgame in that you get renown and such. And by particpating you should help your side ungate endgame PvE.
So most likely the highest-end endgame is not like running a couple raids each week. You don't really know when you can get there. Its gated in an entirely different way.
I don't know if this is good or bad from your perspective in a sense your "endgame" content is more of special occassion and is not a matter of just grinding it out over and over until some strategy works out.
This PvE portion is a much more distant goal as far as access. I dunno people spend months on WoW raids do to lockout timers and multiple boss wipes etc. Maybe WAR content takes less wipes not sure, could be functionally people get a similar amount of wins in a similar amount of time.
On the other hand if you want to be consistently occupied AND working towards the top-end content you will most likely need to RvR quite a bit.
So endgame is, I guess, meant to be a slightly different attitude. Rather than constant ever increasing progression. You are meant to work continuously for a special event that has top end rewards. Its meant to be dessert rather then meal sort of.
I read somwhere that renown rank 40 is something like 500,000 exp where as renown rank 80 is something like 8000000 exp (or thereabouts).
So you are looking at maybe a few years for a reasonably hardcore player to gain the max rank which ofc could get extended in an expansion/patches.
((Dont quote me on the above info my source could well be inaccurate)).
Also every tenth rank you gain a Renown title, this is going to give folks the headsup on who is badass per realm or at the very least an experienced vet.
I think the one thing warhammer is missing is end game PvE, without that the Pvp will eventually get boring to gamers, and warhammer in time will turn into a part time game for players, the one thing WoW did is have a good and balanced mixture of end game PvE and Pvp....
I have faith Mythic will place more endgame PVE in an expansion/DL similar to how DAoC had no hardcore endgame PVE until ToA (hopefully without the massive subscription loss). Although not the best example, Mythic is simply putting the basic of basic core for their game out now which will fan out in time. DAoC has I think 5 Xpacs.... no doubt WAR will have at least 1, not to mention a huge patch for missing classes/cities that were promised for later on. I'm sure the WAR community will be able to survive on the current content + any patched content until a big Xpac. Look at WoW putting in a new endgame instance every 1-3 months.

What's important in life is the journey. The end game is the beginning of death. You should relax and learn to enjoy the journey.

Then if you can point me to a video of the king fight or the city siege I'd appreciate it.
