Room for roleplayers?

Not everyone preferred the Warhammer table top game, I and a lot of others enjoyed the Warhammer RPG books. So my question to all the testers out there is, have mythic made WAR accessible to the RPer or have they left out the pen and dice side of things completely and focused everything into PVP?

I'll probably be called a hater/troll/fanboi again....
But I also liked/played the WH RPG, and the game does not inspire me to RP at all... in fact I almost haven't RPed at all... people aren't interested in it... since most of the time is spent fighting...
It might be better when more people are playing after release...

In CB I encountered a lot of RP, although mostly from the Greenskins side and the Empire. In fact, on the Greenskins, everyone seemed to have got the "You Orrible Snotling, Git a move on!!" bug.
So its quite doable, and should there be a RP server, you are bound to meet likeminded players.

I would say its very open to RP, mythics RP servers on DAOC generally had a go reputation I didn't play on one myself I'm not much of a RPer but that was what I heard.

If there's an RP server, I'll play it. And what little I played, I didn't really see much RP, as it's hard to ask a coherent game mechanics question while speaking proper Greenskin.
Just having played the CE closed beta, there is certainly room for roleplay in WAR. When playing greenskin I always made it a point to say stuff like "Oi, letz smash dem stunties." or "Yeuz Gitz, wherez de foighin at." People seemed to understand, but many times wouldn't play along. I think there is definitly potential for a set of RP servers, especially since the game is rich in setting and backstory (as seen in the Tome of Knowledge). The only other MMORPG games I can think of that have this level of backstory are LotRO, and City of Heroes/Villians.

I just hope they do add a few RP servers, it would be good to see and hopefully they will dabble in the extended lore of the novels and the various campaigns that appeared in White Dwarf.
Seeing that Warhammer did have an extensive back catalogue of fan made campaigns maybe and hopefully we will see some sort of campaign editor in WAR.
Of course it offers roleplaying possibilities but I don't think it will be the game RPlayers should be excited about. It is all about the conflict between Chaos&Order, the war is everywhere and I doubt there will be alot of room for diverse roleplaying.
Myself, I will enjoy playing my role in the WAR.

I dont think this will be much of a role playing game. But i could be wrong but I wouldn't bet on it.
Newer MMOs traded their RPG part for more farmable items. Same with crafting and housing.
Well, dark elves healing orcs who buff chaos ought to be enough to put you off your roll play ideas no?
I really like how much of the Warhammer character the races have, kudos to Mytich for that, however, destruction is one hell of a lore rape. I understand why they did it, for gaming purpose and all that, to get two working sides in their game. However no matter how awsome and fun I find the greenskins in WAR, or how actually chaos Chaos is looking, I'd never touch destruction.
I wouldnt attempt any rp in a beta neither, also in big battles one doesnt have many opportunities to step into character.
The cities should be a haven for rp'ers though once the buzz has settled down.

Yea, there isn't any RP going on right now because people are getting used to the game. Though I did make a funny yesterday. One of the quests requires you to seek out a missing guy in the forest. When I found him, he was dead so I did /cry and began screaming "NOOOOO! TAKE ME! TAKE ME! HE WAS TOO YOUNG!"
A bunch of players stopped fighting and just stared at me. Eventually one was like, "It's ok. He's in a better place."
That's about the extent of my RP. lol
Dunno if you know this already but there will be "Core" and "Open" servers, obviously both servers will have the RvR, If your on a "Core" server you cannot be pked while RPing unless you flag yourself. In the "Open" servers its PVP anytime, anywhere, no matter what. So Core servers will have more people interested in RPing, doing quests and PQ's etc. im guessing. Hardcore PVP'ers like myself will be on "Open" well i know that the guild im in is going "Open"
. Also from what i have heard from my guild mates in vent there is quite a lot of quests, loot to be had, fun to be had while RPing. dunno if i really answered your question but it's all good right?
