Ya with like 100 professionals working on it.

NOW imagine what kind of god aweful shape Darkfall must be in.

Yes, because obviously the amount of people working on a game is the only factor determing it's quality.

obviously 100 professionals are going to do a hell of alot more than 20-30 amateurs who have never produced anything even remotely like a full featured commercial quality MMORPG.

I can just imagine all the Funcom employees sitting and working dedicatedly to make a finished product. The only people that did their job there were the PR team.

Would just like to point out that:

    A) DAOC even with Mythic as its developer.  Had problems at launch.  Technical problems were actually rather low.  The problem was the in-game content.   If most of you don't remember.  Alot of (if not all) of the level 20+ game was un-itemized.   Even the dungeons.  It took Mythics months to correct this, and they were seasoned professionals, as someone pointed out.

    B) Eve-Online was plagued by problems, for the first 3 to 6 months of it's launch.  Might have even been longer that that. I believe CCCP were amateurs at the time (correct me if I'm wrong).

Both were amateurs at MMO making though correct?

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

DAOC was built using GameBryo. The very same engine that was used to build Oblivion.

Darkfall has some completely unproven Net code and client engine.

If they ever actually have real people log in to stress test watch and see how fast the thing crumbles.

Roin you are right what is interesting is that what Downtoearth says is very relevant , tasos works to s Dev Cycle and releases info based on that when issues arrise things get pushed back and re-prioritised everything stated gets pushed back a little. People seem to conviniently like to dish out the liar and vaporware trash arguments , ignoreing the fact that the game is in development. Highly amusing.

yes DAOC technicial problems were low BECAUSE THEY DEVELOPED ON PROVEN TECHNOLOGY and made a very simple ordinary game. Not one that is trying to support thousands of users in a FPS style system.

There I hyped it for you. Gave it a 1. Once it's released in a playable (very subjective I know, but lets say like WoW was on release) state and with all the features promised and I can play it with a decent ping (live in Australia, no fckn way am I playing on a Euro server) then I'll rank it higher.

Till then, it stays as a 1.
