So what is everyone playing at the moment till the EQ2 release??

My big thing right now is i'm playing Star Ocean: Till the End of Time on my PS2, which I swap out for Madden 2004, and occationally wander to my pc for City of Heroes. (that and I keep progress quest running *lol*)

Are there any good fantasy mmorpgs out there?

i've got final fantasy xi, but that got boring quickly with the repetative enemies. I was also starting that game from day one, and i was up in the lvl 30's before the rest of the americans were, so nobody was there to help me get the dragoon quest done -- if anyone is still on that game could you tell me how it is now?

thanks!

Broktree

When I'm not messing around in the EQ2 Beta I'm generally playing Madden 05, Burnout 3, or Def Jam: Fight for NY on Xbox.

ESPN NFL 2K5 for me, too!

I've been playing a little bit of some older games, too, like C&C generals, UT2004, etc. But mostly ESPN NFL 2K5. ::::28::

Rome: Total War right here. Got it on Wednesday and have been laying the smack down on the barbarians since then. It's a must buy for all the fans of the first two (Shogun and Medieval) and a download of the demo for any strategy fans. The real-time battle system is better then ever and the turn-based campaign map is much more strategic and feels like Civilization. (which is a good thing, it used to be more like board of Risk or something)

I'm also looking forward to Half-Life 2 if it comes out before EQII.

I really want EQ2 to come out soon.  Till then, I'm playing Ragnarok Online, MapleStory, Carpe Diem, Fable, and MeltyBlood.  Yeah... 3 english games, a Korean game that I can't understand, and a PC japanese fighter game (don't see those everyday.)  The EQ2 Character Creation CD can help pass the time as well.image

Star Wars battlefront is a good time. Nothing groundbreaking or award winning, but you gotta love blasting away gungans, jawas and ewoks.

Right now I am playing DAoC, cuz it still rocks, and Star Wars Battlefront.  These should hold me and I should finally get my epic armor for my 50 chanter, he's been 50th for 8 months and still haven't gotten around to getting it.

I tried Fable for 2 days, that was long enough for that.

Playing Thief which has nice graphics, but not as fun as it was years ago.

My wife and I are working on some Sims 2 characters which is suprisingly a very well done game and entertaining.

I Have DOOM 3 coming soon, just really to see the graphics and blow some stuff up. booya

I gave up Lineage 2 during my second class transfer. I really liked it but, I had some issues with NC support.  If they ever fix there support I may return. Gawd I loved that game.

I feel like an addict waiting for my next hit or something. Please let me get Beta.

NC Softs support for City of Heroes is REALLY good, maybe they just neglect L2??? I usually have problems in CoH solved within an hour or two at the most!

What didn't you like about Fable Sacfed? and can you loan me your copy and your xbox ? hehehe

Don't get too hyped about Doom 3 - the game was a bit of a disappointment - my roomate and I modded the sounds some - esp the rocket noise, and adjusted the damage of stuff and that made it better. But after about an hour or two I had pretty much seen it all. Once you get into hell, thats when it picks up some. I would suggest when u get it to mod the hell out of it before you end up playing thru the story mode

I wonder if getting EQ Live now would be worth it? I think i've seen the version at the local store that has every expansion and everything for like 20 or 30 dollars....

Played EQ for 4 years...got burnt on the EverCamp - EnvyQuest aspect of the game, then the Guild we helped found went totally raid oriented and that was it.. moved on to beta testing DAOC, played a year or so, no end game if yur not PvP oriented, dropped it, got into Horizons Beta, was blown away with the tradeskilling and ran several skill sinto the 90+ range, then ran into the No End Game scenario again. Not to mention the daily fight with bugs, bad codeing, very bad codeing and totally assinine codeing, and that was AFTER release ::::12::

Wandered thru the Planetfall beta for a bit, <<yawn>>...spent some time in Eve beta << shudder>> did the WOW stress test thing for a few days, play a couple free trial accounts in AC2 for no apparent reason and thru it all, like an old and faithful friend was Quake 3 Rocket Arena . Still running a couple servers and a couple long time friends still rip each others heaarts out playing Q3RA in Excessive mode

I pretty much play the forums too.

Other than that, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War is very cool. The action in this RTS is insane! Also a pretty well-balanced game from what I've experienced so far. The intro video is one of the best I've seen in any game.

So tempted to start up my EQ Live accounts too. I have two that I actually own and 5 I have access to LOL. So why haven't I fired them up yet??

    Broktree:

This isn't really the forum for Fable. But, you just can't beat online rpg's they just feel so much better.  Fable is kinda like eating toast, its alright in a pinch but kinda dry.  As for borrowing my copy and XBOX, hehe.

    Pro's of Fable

Graphics are nice, Quests are immersive, Story, Kicking chickens, and getting drunk, plenty of extras, getting laid.

    Con's

Lack of weapons, Very Very easy to play, camera, replicatable bugs, Loading times are insane, Zones to small, no consequences really as advertized, quite linear, AI is horrible.

I agree about Fable. Reading up on it, I thought I'd totally dig it. But playing it at a friend's house, it was just so cheesy. Even beyond that, half of the best parts they were planning on having in it were canceled and taken out before release.

Then I heard you could atone for any sins you did and reverse your whole good/bad alignment, I was completely turned off. If you want to talk about dumbing down, this is it.

The above friend went on vacation and lent me his copy to play (he'd already finished it in 3 days). I can't even bring myself to play it... and I didn't even have to pay anything to get it! I guess my time is worth too much LOL.

I was torn between buying Sims 2 and Fable (released the same time). Glad I bought the Sims 2.

I have a pretty successful Droid Engineer business in Star Wars Galaxies, but I don't know how long I am staying though.

    Too much work....

    I must be mad. ::::12::

Hmm..thanks for the info, i think one of my friends was gonna get it, but i haven't heard back from him yet on it, too bad they took out some features!

With the star wars thing, i'm not really into that - altho i know a lot of ppl are, i think the recent movies put me off of star wars stuff
