I was originally considering the Antec P182 but am having second thoughts as it's only a mid tower. My current case is a Thermatake Xaser III and is about 5 years old. I'm pretty sure cases have evoved over the last few years with better cooling. I was planning on using a HD4870 so need something that will fit this Video Card. The only other prerquiste is that the additional USB, SATA, ports should either be ath the front or if they on the top should be as close to the front as possible. Front and rear fans would be better as there is only a 1.5 inch gap either side of the case but the front and back are open. Other cases I had considered are.
Can anyone vouch for these or suggest any others?

I use one of these and it's excellent with loads of room and ample space for multiple 120mm case fans. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-108-CM
the antec nine hundred is a nice one. Iam usein this case www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp
I like the way Thermaltake has evolved over the years. I am also using a Xaser III, but have been keeping up with what they are doing. The Xaser VI, and Armor+(Full Tower) are simply a cut above the rest when it comes to laying it out. They also provide good airflow and setting up a few things are easier. Not to mention very stylish looking.
I like the Thermaltake Armor series myself. That's what I'm going with for my next build. *Everything Cleffy said*, except I've not owned one yet myself. A guy that came into my store has one and I checked it out firsthand, and I love it. The Armor is just flashy enough to look cool, but it's incredibly functional and has a lot of space and airflow...

Heh weird.
Just last week I upgraded from a Xaser 3 to a Xaser 6 and lets just say im not dissapointed.
Having previousely had the Xaser 3 with the Aquarius 2 liquid cooling this time around i decided i didnt want the liquid cooling so i just went with the standard fan model Xaser 6 and its fantastic.
Looks as fantastic as ever as you usually get with Thermaltake is pretty damn quiet considering all those fans I havnt seen my system temp peak over 53 yet (previousley was getting 70+)
there will be ample space in this beast for a JCB never mind a HD4870 and with its nice cable routing areas keeps the main areas nice and clear for good airflow
in the past year i switched from a lian-li case to an antec 900, and i'm very happy with it. i love the power button and usb ports on top of the case. the ONLY problem i had was with the power supply mounted on the bottom the cable on my old psu was barely long enough to reach the 4x2 power on the upper edge of the board. that really wasn't a case issue, but with low mounted psus it's an issue. also a big factor in getting the case was it didn't have a bezel door. i just can't stand the thought of having to open a silly little door that restricts airflow in order to get at my cd/dvd drive, power buttons, usb, or whatever. it seems completely counter productive to me.

I have that card in a $40 case no problems my cpu is overclocked and i run the little fella 24/7. The case looks absolutely great and its is big. It is under a desk so ....
I have had top of the range expensive cases in the past. Right now I dont really see the benefit of splashing out on one again. 5 years a go it was a different issue but latest cpus seem to run cool enough and there is a lot more variety and quality at the cheaper end of the market now too.
Unless you are dead set on a top of the range case a cheaper one will do
