Crafting in WAR

I've messed around with it just a little, I was wondering if anyone out there has ever done it extensively, I'd like your feedback on the high level crafting (Talisman making, apothecary).

Thanks in advance.

I'm a beta tester.  Love crafting. Zero interest in War  "crafting" in its present form.

Crafting leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Not a lot even bother becuase it's kind of a money sink to start, and such an afterthought to both the devs and players....no one seems to care *shrug*

This sucks, i love crafting...yet WAR is like anti-crafting in this beta phase.

I acually (probably) won't even do crafting since it's more of a PvE thing and i'm into RvR.

Amen to that. Potion making was a no go for me due to burnout with alchemy in WoW. All in all though I kind of like the crafting in WAR. I just wish they would have gone with more professions than Apothecary and Talisman making. Just seems like there should be more, but as it is, its not too bad imo.

    Cheers!

i dont know if this apply's to crafting but any body else think if the made it so that u could breed a kind of mount and then sell them but they would make it kind of hard to get the mats. Or how ever higher ur rank is the better armor the mount has or w/e

Groups of Sorc backed by choosen and couple healers are the best zerg groups. Currently no class in game can put out the dps (single/aoe) that casters can (BW and Sorc). In the scens i have done upto 30s Sorc/BW typically finished top 5 in dps and RvR they where the ones turning the tide of the battle (remember when 4 of them scared away all the IBs in Reikland when order was spawn camping).

I didn't delve too deep into cultivation/ apothecary skill but what I can provide in my instincts on the system.

    - It is easy to perform. You can "set it and forget it". Plant your seed , close the window and go about your business. Open your window when you decide and harvest your plant.

    - Potions may not be earth shattering, but I doubt players won't be without them. No one likes to be running around with 5 hps praying for a heal. Potions will curb that. Also buffs and resistance potions that last 60 minutes. They appear to stack.

    - Crafting have Tome of KNowledge unlocks. Who knows what other benefits can be discovered for those who specialize in crafting

    - Money can be made from selling stuff from those who take the butchering

    Not so good stuff:

Money sink. I spent a lot of money making potions. You don't get drops for vials or water components, You have to buy them.  Also if you want a better plant to harvest you have to buy water for your soil and nutrients.

Auction House factor unknown - since we didn't have a auction house, we don't know how crafting will impact the game economy. Will rare mats be the thing to buy? Or will people be so focused on RvR that any potion will be coveted on the market? (Becuse few people will devote time to crafting)

My personal question. Why couldn't the crafting have a contribution to War effort ? Example: create temporary war machine that has a timer, sturctural points, etc. Players with adequate skill can spend a few mintues setting up a mini ballista which falls apart after 60 seconds, players can choose to sit at the station and fire (using the crosshairs) instead of fighting.
