Well his quote went something like that, and no game can make that quote more true then RYL. You choose demon or human and once you pick you cant go back, ever. The graphics suck, and the fighting is like Diablo II on steroids, so if you havent killed the monster in the first 3 seconds of the fight you will probably die. The character models are ugly, the areas are bland and its just plain boring. Not to mention the battle system is awful, some quick dueling system with really choppy graphics....

I didnt like it.

haha if u made a mistake with race all u have to do is to delete ur chars and restart the game.

(pull all ur item in bank so ur char on ur new race get it 2: it dont work across server)

look ppl im not like a RYL lover or anything, just the game worked out most them fine for me, maybe its all those great ppl i met but it sure killed a load of my time. (thx to jay mostly haha)

but i guess even with a lvl 43 archer,33sor,25war,28sin,24ehan,35rune,20life,26temp,23atta,28shadow its time to call quits and say good bye so long to RYL, Ryzom is open tomorrow! anyone coming?

I have to agree on this

You make character for the first 30 levels the game is quite okay but.... then

It starts to get harder you have to party to be able to level other wise its just to hard, trouble with party is most of the time you can party with people who you met, but when there not arround you have to look for one wich can take long

Then when you finnaly found one its usually bad so you leave again and start the whole thing over

and clicking after clicking gets very dull specially in this game the new quests that where introduced are

also bad, cuz the exp is lousy so your better of killing mobs and thats it, Only tiny little bit of fun was the arena but you have to be level 40+ atleast to be of any use there, it just takes to long

its not that bad...when you know what you are doing you can get level 40 in 2-3 days solo and level 60 in 2 weeks solo.

level 60 is what you need for decent pvping...from human side,enchanter is best when you solo mostly and want decent pvp character...sorcerer might be faster to level but they sux at pvp compared to enchanters and melee characters requires party after level 40.

its not that bad...when you know what you are doing you can get level 40 in 2-3 days solo and level 60 in 2 weeks solo.

Why would I play an mmrpg to play SOLO? Might as well play Morrowind.

And if the game gets fun once youve hit level 60 or whatever, then that in itself proves that the game is a piece of garbage. No game should require you to get to a certain level before you can start having fun.

i dont know y u call this thing a "game".. it has no story....no role playing......and smae shit ppver and over again.............full of lag with even good pc....this game gets a 1 out of 100 oO

LMAO I couldn't agree more with you. I'm very happy someone else has the same exact opinions as me on this subject. I've tried Ragnarok Online, Pristontale, RYL, Knight-Online, Saga of Ryzom or whatever its called, Savage Eden, L2. I would have to say these games or so disguisting it makes me sick.

I got in RYL thinking, "this looks interesting". And then I tried to use the controls. Can it get any worse? Yes it can. I tried Pristontale the day after. I'm trying to figure out what these people are doing to their games and why they think their good.

I tested World of Warcraft with the stress test. I would have to say that this is the greatest MMO ever. Please don't feed me the garbage of it being just like EQ because it isn't anywhere near it. I can admit though that Blizzard has taken everything that the other MMO's have failed at and is making it better.

This game has set my standards so high after playing the stress test, and now it is very difficult for me to play anything at all. Just my two cents.

I played mu online and i liked it. But well i played it on a friend's free server and he changed some stuff like lvlin is much more faster and that when u get to the lvl cap he could put u to lvl 1 but with the stats of lvl 250. This made the fun factor of the game very high but i dont know how is in the normal servers i was told that lvlin is a bitch.

And about RYL ill try it just for curiousity well is free for now.

I agree that this game needs alot of work and possibly a graphics overhaul between now and release. I am however glad that I am getting to play it for free now instead of spending money on other crap mmorpgs that are out...I have tried so many that my options are very limited at this point. I am glad that there is an open beta to fill the hours between now and when EQII or WoW go into their open phases. It will continue to be fun for me for another couple of weeks; but this is only because I am very bored and broke atm.

Some Koreans companies are making games for money, so the games take you to spent thousands and thousands hours for leveling, then, nothing else you could do but comparing the levels and the armors with each other. The markets of these "leveling games" (i don't like to mark any games as a crap coz it really hurts ppl's feelings, so i quoted) are some newbie people who haven't really played any good online games b4. For Asians' develop games, still some good ones. Japanese game for example, not as good as Yankees' games, but preety good at story telling and CG. And a Korean game call navy force 2 is really funny excpt for the hard leveling job.(no problem for me coz i have the hack tools kit for getting 1000 times experience :P)

So I would say, for the really fun inside the games, Yankee and European game still owns, but there are some excellence games made by asian companie ocasionally. However, time will heal, craps will be gone :P

Stars don't mind that they look the same with firefies

I don't think it is a horrible game, but it does have allot of problems. The cahat window just drives me crazy. I just hope that they keep the open beta until eq2 or wow comes out.

Come on; the game is not that bad. It's still in Beta for Christ's sake. It's better than a lot of MMORPGs out, in my opinion. Particuarlly for any of the Asian MMOs. Christ; look at Ragnarok. Now that's crap. Yes; World of Warcraft is going to be graphically superior, but also WoW has been in production for God knows how long. I remember reading about WoW before Warcraft III was out. And Guild Wars looks like WoW on an acid trip. But for me; the setting of WoW doesn't particuarlly intrigue me. I'm only hoping that the story of RYL is still in devolopment though. The premise of a racial holy war is interesting to me, and now that that storyline has been ditched in Warcraft with the release of Warcraft III; I really don't like it as much anymore. It was nice to learn the history and all, yeah, but now the High Elves(I really, really liked the High Elves, but now they're an unplayable race, and the Night Elves are just crap.) are gone, and now there's some stupid archetype supervillain. Doesn't entertain me. Everquest never really did anything for me either. The MMO(actually; it's technically a MUD) with the best storyline, and the most roleplayers I've ever seen is Gemstones, but it's way too expensive for how cheap of a production it is, and I can't stand playing the game for more than half an hour. I can see how RYL can be very entertaining; if they put more work into it before release. The only thing bothering me is the if. More could be done to make it a real good game, and I hope they don't let that potential go to waste. All I know is, that even with the occasional crash, and the occasional lagging; I still have fun playing RYL. I think it has the potential to be worth my money.

Edit: Really; the backstory isn't even that bad. Very political. I like political. It's just not very fleshed out. I'm reading over the RYL site some more, and saw some stuff I missed, and I'm looking at some stuff that is yet to be implemented, but it has a feudal setting; like Shadowbane(I think it was Shadowbane -_- I never played it; a friend of mine did); I just hope the same doesn't happen like it did on Shadowbane. I heard on one of the servers a guild of players conquered the entire world, and than stopped playing : P. The game's just a bit cookie cutter, but it's very far from being the worst

I was looking on MMORPG.com for perhaps a free trial of an online game to pass the free time I've had lately. However, many of the more popular games also take up a lot more space on the ole' hard drive, so I had to go with a game with less than 1,000 mb. I searched around and found Risk Your Life. It didn't look that great, but I was desperate to play almost anything, so I downloaded the free trial... 4 times... After each one prior was interupted for various reasons... And that's about 2-3 hours of sitting on my ass waiting for this thing to finally take residence on my computer.

It finally finishes the download, and I double-click the desktop icon it created to begin playing. And then a strange sound filled my ears. A small musical number that could only have been concieved on a 7 year old keyboard. I was then treated to a choppy loading screen, and then the startup screen for RYL. The cheesy and unproffessional music playing was sadly, not in my imagination, but coming from this baffling creation. After loading about 90% of the files necessary to begin playing, the loading bar completely STOPS. It ceases to load past 90%. A .zip file seems to have stopped it in it's track. So, I check out the buttons on the bottom of the startup screen. Including but not limited to, New Character, Options, etc., etc. I clicked on options... And absolutely nothing happens. Like the button you push at a street light, it does nothing, and is only there for your own amusement.

In fact, the only button of the 7 or so that actually does SOMETHING, is the "New Character" button, which links you to the main website of the company that makes the game in Korea, instead of the main website for the game, which would allow me to create an account to play, which was my GOAL the entire time. Why it would send me to the business portion of their Korean website, with only snippets of information on their products and how to contact them for job offers and business transactions, when clicking the button meant to redirect players to a screen that allows them to make an account to play their game, is beyond me. And the loading bar is still dead in it's tracks. And that ridiculous music is still playing. And I come to the realization that the game can't be worth this trouble. In fact, since it's physically impossible to actually PLAY the game, I'm wondering if it even exists at all, and isn't just a mirage or dellusion or flat-out LIE amongst this Korean company to screw with anyone who doesn't want to pay them. And if the game itself, if it DOES exist, is anything similair to the world's crappiest startup screen mentioned above, than it must be the most Godawful MMORPG in the history of the world...
