Before you read this, It is a serious topic, and I am voicing my opinions. I am not looking for a fight or any flames.
On the mmorpg.com they are giving away 9,000 beta accounts for Chaos Online..
these are parts of the Game description:
"For example, you can cast your powerful spell when ridding on a modern motorcycle!"
"which is specialized in magnificent effects and expansibility"
At first its 100 Lineage 2 clones, now they are cloning this 2,5 D trash.
I am so sick of seeing clones of trash games being flooded onto the market
I am a very open person when i comes to religion, race, creed, nationality etc...
I have jewish friends, I have african american friends, italian friends, I am friendly to whoever is friendly to me.
But that said I want everyone to understand that most people are judged by there first Impressions on someone.
When I see all these games that are being pumped out by Korean companies, and I get this nastalgic feeling from each game filled with bots, poor translation, cheap graphics, and words like SUPER Amazing fun rewards !
This is pretty much all I know of korean business and culture.
My first and only impression of koreans is that they only care about stealing each others ideas and making money by trying to shove garbage down peoples throats.
How can i think differently when all thats shown to me is the complete negative aspects of a culture.

Lol, i beta tested the first Linage and boy, did we hate Korean gankers.
but I know some koreans, nice people, it just that the playstyle there isn't the same as ours. And all koreans aren't morons when playing either.
Just relax, and if you gonna hate someone, hate him for what he does or says, not because where he's from.
I don't know weather this is on topic or off, but I will never play anther game with Elves in it again. This is do to being sick and f***ing tired of fantasy games.
As far as the clone thing goes, MMOs are like Magic the gathering and all the card games that folloed it. There this great idea that came out of the starting gates flying. Now everyone is trying to milk the whole thing, Korean mostly because these games are far more popular over in Asia than hear. Lineage I & II are uber popular over there from what I hear. But yeah the Magic is gone. When WoW is done hear most of the MMO population these game clone spammers are trying to snag are just going to go back to the lives they had before WoW or what ever game they had, not pick a new one. So get used to a bunch of worthless clone's because thats all well see till MMos are out of vogue with gamers.
Like I said when I started, not sure if thats on topic but it's my input. Blistermix of Bria.
The trouble with a lot of Korean games is that they become lost in translation both literally and in terms of gameplay. I tend to shy away from Korean games (especially F2P) as the localisation is often extremely poor and the translation suffers. I'm a sucker for good dialogue and storyline, and if I come across 'all your base' type text I instantly know it's not the game for me. It just completely kills all immersion (unless you play for pure comedy value)
I once worked for a Chinese guy in China as a graphic designer and he said he preferred Americans because unlike the Chinese, (and other asian cultures), Americans have a sense of creativity that they lack to the point that there is a shortage of artists in their country that really stick out, Americans are more open when it comes to Art in general. This is what he said and I was un-aware of this aspect, that being said of course the Olympics opening was very inspired art but when it comes to videogames I'd have to agree with this topic.
I think it's probably just a mentality that their raised with, selling bootleg CDs, DVDs, Software, and when it comes to original Games they fall short because they don't know how to be original, I am ready to stand corrected but I've yet to see a single breakthrough game come out of Korea, but asians in general are creative I mean Japan is a major player in the gaming market, and the Koreans have long been against the Japanese, so basically their opposites, it could have something to do with their restrictive government, give them more freedoms, take out Jong-il and it would likely be much better off. And I wouldn't claim America releases only great games, there are tons of U.S. copycat companies churning out really bad stuff but the U.S. companies probably have much bigger budgets as opposed to the Koreans and so our graphics are likely always going to be better but I don't believe that graphics alone make a game great. My ideal mmorpg is a game that has a solid storyline with a puzzle based quest system and a great pvp system. Democracy equals better videogames.
same thing happens in the wester world. all mmorpg are just clones of each other now.
well all the companies that make free mmorpg(the L2 clones and the Ragnarock clones) are just small companies who are just intrested in your cash.
if you want to play a decent asian mmo stick with ncsoft , squareenix ...
gravity used to be on that list but they are just money hungrey aswell now....all there games used to be p2p but they have all gone f2p now except for ragnarock which is p2p and cashop....eh....

What you are saying is extremely racist and I find it ironic because racism against Asians is acceptable. Let me explain.
What if I slightly modify your idea:
I hate all Africans because they are always running scams on the Internet.
I hate all Italians because they are always trying to convert me to Catholic.
I hate all Americans because they are all fat.
All those statements are extremely racist and unacceptable. Just like your comment on Koreans.
You answer your own question though, you know little about Koreans. You're basing your entire opinion of Koreans on an extremely small part of their culture.
Now saying you hate Koreans MMOs, would be true. Saying you hate Koreans because of their MMO's is extremely racist and wrong.
lol yes. alot of people seem to get away with it in this forum

That is the very root of what racism is, don't you understand? Not that I think you're racist I can tell you are using the word for the effect of the thread. But one must broaden their horizons beyond the Korean MMO industry (perhaps visit their country, etc) to get a proper perspective on a group of people.
Your last line is very profound, its the root of a lot of trouble in todays society.
O_o o_O
lol yes. alot of people seem to get away with it in this forum
Exactly, And i find it rather retarded to assume that a whole country or nation is just like that for a freaking game/s.
txof, hat's off for you. You nailed it completely. I wish people would act better than they are doing. Judging people with almost no knowledge is stupid.
The speed of the mole and the power of steel is my weapon
WoW made me really HATE gnomes, so I guess that makes me a racist
How silly and uneducated.
You are taking a dislike of a certain type of game and assuming your dislike of it is (a) universal; and (b) caused by the racial characteristics of a certain people you describe as Asian.
You need to grow up fast and learn to respect other cultures.

Melmoth
This one comment showed how racist you truly are... i just have friends... it's arrogant of you to think they should produce games your way because you don't like their way... and the only thing I hate about Koreans is Kimchi...
If that turns you into a racist.... you should seriously consider what kind of person you are.
Are you asking to be shown some positive Corean stereotypes?
Here ya go!
Corean Archery
Amazing. Many of the best archers in the world come from Corea.
Corean Dance
Breaking
Inventive. Even though they didn't create it they sure have inspired many.
Bokko
Different. A dance totally different than anything else, both quirky and difficult.
Corean Music
Current
Catchy. Some of the best pop, hip hop and ballad you will hear around the world.
Traditional
Peaceful. Millennia old cords that pierce the imagination.
Corean History
Mysterious. One of the oldest known and least understood civilizations.
Corean Culture
Beautiful. Even with all the hardships the culture has endured their art lives on.
Corean Food
Different. Tasty, spicy, and all around healthy, Corean food is cheap and easily prepared.
Corean Humor
Playful. Almost always light hearted comedy that gets a laugh but isn't hurtful.
Corean Commercials
Conservative? Corea isn't as dry and uninventive as some would have you believe.
The information is there all you have to do is look for it. There is creativity and greatness everywhere, but there are also those who wish to stifle and steal it.
No culture deserves to be typecast.

I'm not Korean, I'm chinese/Cam by blood and Canadian by heart :P
Anyway, the point is... the people you need to actually blame are the Americans that are importing these games here. The Korean games are made for the Asian market and over there it works. Believe it or not, people enjoy these games and those companies are making good money. That's when you have a random indie publisher here in America that buys the rights and important a localized version.
Rarely do the Korean themselves actually target the western market. It's more then often a business deal with an American importer.
Now well, if you don't like Korean games then why do you persist on playing them. If they are clones and such then why do you feel the need to try them to then get frustrated at the situation?
This will cure you of your racism:
Honestly, you can't blame Koreans too much. The people who sponsor the games outside of Korea are the biggest problem. Look at Rohan, that game was actually considered to be very good, then the idiots at joymax or whatever it's called screwed up the exp rates to make it a hardcore grinder so you are forced to buy cashshop, and the gms don't even stop bots. Then there's codemasters, who ruined both Archlord and RF Online, two very good games. It's not Koreans' fault idiot companies purposely screw up the games out of greed for more cash.
Oh don't forget Dave "I created Earthworm Jim" Perry, who ruined 2Moons.
I am totally different from you nobody is forcing these games to me, I don't like them there for see no need to spend time with them, but then there are numerous things I don't like, it never ever turned me into a racist/hater, and to be honest it's kinda a strange read, cause to me it looks like when I see a topic like this that other people might be forcing OP to play these type of games.
Simple piece of advice: Don't spend time on things you dislike, when people start doing that we would see less hate or OP 's "racism" which I must say the topic at hand wasn't even that racist so kinda wrong title for this topic.
Just understand that just because you don't like it doesn't mean other might not like it, people are different, and don't base a culture on what type of games they bring, trust me Korea's populations aren't all gamers you know.
Also NOBODY is shoving anything, it a persons own responsibility to either play or not play.
Another thing you say you're a "open person" yet you seem blinded by how much crap is developed in the west, unless you're going to say you love each and every single game ever created in the west if so then I have nothing more to add.
