Ooh! Ortisai knows words like idiot and 2-year-old... and I see he found his Caps Lock key... how cute!
Just a few pointers for you, Ortisai: -this is the way you spell "summed" -the word "he's" has an apostrophe in it -one space between words, though two spaces between sentences is acceptable sometimes -multiple word adjectives, whether used as nouns or not, often include dashes for clarity -correct grammar dictates that the word "doesn't" would match "2-year-old" -this is the way you spell "his" -don't participate in "social commentary" (insulting other people) unless you have the intellectual capability to back it up
Unless you have an equivalent or better computer, then you don't have the more advanced features. Thus, it is irrelevant whether or not your computer works fine. This is especially true when we are talking about features that your computer clearly does not have. I understand that your opinion is that I am just complaining in order to get people to stop playing FFXI. This cannot happen in that, if someone already has FFXI working on their computer, then they will not stop playing because someone else says it doesn't.
Let me know if you're interested in discussing your opinion like an adult. Then, and only then, will I consider your opinion valid.

I havent heard much about ffXI, I haven't played any of the other ff games but someone says that ffXI isn't like the others. I wouldn't mind trying it because the graphics look great, but is it quick and easy to start playing? and can i pick it up and start having fun right away? do they offer a trial period anywhere?Whats the community like in ffXI because other mmorpgs ive played havent had communities so readily to chat.

How you gonna ask if the games any good on the third page of a "Dont waste your money on this game" thread...
Lying in bed, looking up at the stars, a single thought passed through my head. Where the fuc|{ is my roof.
your opinion is so lop sided due to the fact that you have to lie about your computer to us to not only get people to stop playing this game from fear of too many bugs but to also justify the reason it keeps crashing on you.
Hmm? i bought this game 2 weeks ago, ive been played Anarchy-Online, Phantasy Star Online, Lineage2, Starwars Galaxies, Priston Tale, Ragnarok Online, FF11 is far the best mmorpg after AO, the game IS HUGE, and mmprog is supose to be team playing also and you talking about crashing....check you computer...never ever crashed on me in any online games!
Ooooo! I've played this game! And countless others...
The verdict (imo) is:
FFXI is a fun but time consuming game. I don't remember exactly why I left it... (my friends were leaving it too so... >_>), but I'm not sure if I'd ever play it again. At one point I was actually juggling this game with SWG lol and kept switching between them (if you spend 2 minutes on SWG and go back on FFXI, it's really blurry @_@). So of course I went to SWG.. and then got bored of that and went to RO >_> (Hey! It was my first ever MMO and it just brought back such memories ). Part of me misses FFXI right now.. but I know I don't have the time to play it >_> nor a real reason why...
Oh! and about your computer crashing... I'm sorry ;_; but don't bash a game so much before you actually play it (yes, you're been trying to but ya know >_>). FFXI takes some time to get used to...

Um the only decent MMORPG in that list is AO... all those others are total crap, try EQ or CoH 1000 times better than FFXI or any of those you listed.

The first mmorpg I ever played is FFXI. I bought it before really looking into it. The main theme about this game is teamwork. Which I soon found out, lol. It got tiring after a while. I got to level 30 and got beastmaster(best job for soloing) and brought it to lvl 15. After finding about how Sqaure is making beastmaster weaker, i saw no point to continue playing. The way the missions and quests are makes you think you can do them by yourself. Like helping and NPC, but you can't really do many of the quests or missions by yourself. They should make the missions based on the team, since that is the theme.
Which brings up another point. There isn't much character customization to help promote teamplay. Like the in the military, everyone has to have a certain haircut. They do that and not having more variety in the monsters to cater for people with low-end pc's.
This game is easy to get into and play, at least in my experience it was. Which made me play as long as I did. Lvl 7-10 was fairly painless for me, but then again I was fortunate enough to be playing alongside some great people.
I have had my game crash any. You might just have some compatibility problems with your pc and the game itself. I've had the same problem with playing Halo, found out my graphics card wasn't that compatible with it.
I'm still debating with myself wether or not playing this game was a waste of money or not. Just glad I got out when I did, lol.
This game has its pros and cons. It all depends on what you are looking for in a mmorpg.
Can ya'll help me with choosing a new one to get into? I want to be able to rp a whole lot more than I was able to in FFXI. Also want to be able to solo in levels past 10.

Yeah, I've heard about how they have done the summoners. I've played with a summoner twice, quite a fun experience.
One thing that I wish that they didn't do was the subjob. They should be a job be able to stand alone without the need of a subjob. It makes certain jobs obsolete. And you aslo won't get invited if you don't have the job/subjob that everyone else has.
I played as War/whm until level 30. I know what you're going to say. But, it is actually a good combo (however not many people should use it.). My limited healing abilities have saved many parties I've been in from certain death. There are so many people that get powerleveled and aren't taught how to play. They wind up being in a party and not know what to do. Something will happen, like the mnk/war using provoke and the whm having to spam cure on him, that gets the whm killed and so on and so on.
I'm glad that I have played the game, it was fun while it lasted. It taught me what I want and don't want in a game. I'm downloading Anarchy Online right now, I hear that its a lot better than FFXI. Now I get to solo if I want too, lol.
I have a feeling you never played this game or a a huge noob. Lvling is not hard, you can solo till lvl 12 then group the rest of the way and gain 3 lvls a day. Thats average for most mmorpgs. The game was very stable on everysingle server i played. No lag until the PS2 people came and the population nearly gained 200,000 people. The game was very fun, just not alot to do once you play it for a while.
Aopen AX4C mac P4 3000GHZ w/800mhz FSB 1GB Geil 3200 value Albatron NVidia 5900 128mb 120GB HD
And when i played it, it crashed at first, but only because my display drivers were all wack, but when i fixed that issue, i played for 18+hour sessions many a day. It rairly crashed, and the only crashing i had was accedently hitting the windows key, so i just removed it.
Eh, I haven't found any technical issues with this game in my short time of playing. The only sort of "crash" I've experienced has been the annoying way the game quits if you try to alt-tab out (a necessity for SWG when waiting for a shuttle or something and not needing to get any crafting xp :P).
As for the lvl 7 thing, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I easily soloed to lvl 11, and was on my way to 12 when I quit the game. That's even without many hours of gameplay. (In fact, grouping at this stage seemed to be counterproductive since the folks I usually ended up with wanted to run straight to the big stuff that killed us right away. We got a lot of xp, but the net was about the same as if I had killed easier stuff solo after the number of times we ended up dying).
If I have any complaints about the game itself it would be 1) the controls for PC without a controller are complete crap. 2) This game isn't all that fun. It's an extremely solid game, and quite streamlined compared to a lot of other games, but that ends up killing a lot of the fun for me. Leveling is also kind of slow, at least early on. The last few times I've logged in, I couldn't bring myself to hunt again.

It took me one day to gain lv 8, why do you complain?? you are jsut like all the others that are to stupid to understand the game. Everything you wrote was just BS!!
yes it is true that the game will crash a lot IF you have a dial up connection. there are a lot of lag problems with dial up. What do you expect tho its DIAL UP. Once I switched to broadband the crash issue was resolved. although I would recomend broadband this game will run fine with dial up, just don't get pissed when you lag out every 4 hours or so, or when someone calls you when you are online.
