cause they are still working out bugs. and translating it to English. korea is getting it sometime in october from what i hear. its coming out early 09 in North America. be patient its better to get a well polished game than a crappy one that needs like 10 patches within the first month it is released.
Korea will start their Open Beta by the end of this year, while EU/NA will experience 'Preview Events' early next year.
It's simply too early to decide on a final release date yet, as NCsoft is still working on the various beta phases. They intend to stall the release until the game is finished, though speculation says early 2009. The localisation is progressing well according to the EU offices, and the EU/NA release shouldn't come long after the Korean.

You know, as much as I want this to come out, good. Everyone is tired of playing 6 months of open beta for cash. They're actually giving it the time it needs, from the sound of it. I mean does anyone want another TR/Vanguard/Etc.?
In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.
From that G4 MMORPG report Aion special, the devs said that the game could probably be released right now, but they want to make sure they release a very polished game. They seem to be learning from other games' mistakes, thank goodness ^_^
