Thanks Mythic for a great weekend. Now its time for me to settle down and start planning on how I can play this game without it affecting RL. Unlike WoW, this time I'll be prepared.

Me too man, me too. Luckily I have distractions (rents coming to stay with me until 09/06), but as for the affecting RL thing at least this game can be fun from the start for short periods. I negotiate with my wife 30 minute massage for 2 hrs play time. 2hrs in WAR is like 2hrs of lovely greatness. With other MMO's it's like you can just get rolling, and barely have fun.
I am still calling in sick 9/15 and 9/16. I am going to be a wreck those two days. I will be practicing for the next couple of weeks how to take an effective 3-5 minute shower, and how to clean up the house in 5-10 minutes in the most effective manner where it looks like I did hours of work. I have gotten pretty damn good.
I was hoping for a summer release as I am a teacher and September is always a terribly busy month. But I think that if I don't give homework those few days, I will be ok!
I didn't tell my wife that WAR was closed for two weeks. I figured I'd earn some good-will points whenever she asks 'You going to play your game?' and I reply with 'No. Lots to do around the house'...or..'No I just want to spend the time with you.'
(Of course I'll be working out gameplay/tactics in my head but she'll never know! HAHA!)

I'm pretty much stuck, i won't be able to play it to full effect until the winter holiday which is when most of you would have hit tier 4 and I would still be down in tier 2 trying to fend off diseased villagers in a PQ zone.

Oh well going to pack all my stuff on UO (sell my house, bank my stuff) and organize my FFXI account before closing it as well.. Hope they stay closed for a while tho.

Actually, that depends if all your students play WAR on the opposing faction, lol.
The really crappy thing is that if they ask me if I play WAR or anything, I have to be all professional about it and say, "What is that?" and then play dumb when they explain it.
When I was in college, I had a professor that played WoW and we used to waste at least 10 minutes of class time talking about it and organizing raids.
I was going to play a few other games I have installed ... open them up then said, "damn I want to play WAR."

I do that all the time! hoping I can get the damn game working though.
Homework should be to play the first 10 levels and have your students write a 10 page essay on their exp in WAR and how they interacted with other people in the game.

I am a professor and I did play WOW. My students always thought it was hilarious when I started talking Shaman and Horde and WOW material.
Some of my colleagues will play WAR too so its going to be cool. Hopefully we will play on the same server and same side; otherwise the departmental meetings might get interesting!!
Do you by chance teach World Religions? lol. I am the new guy at my school so I am not going to let them know I am a nerdy gamer yet. I'll wait for tenure...
