yawns at all these games. once i went mmo , i can never go back to console games. they are so lame.
Those in addition to SC2 IMO.
I'm stuck in the same boat you are.
As for MMO's being the only genre that isn't 'lame' - I can apprecaite a good game even if it isn't an MMO. Well, I mean I don't find everything that isn't one LAME.
If I want a good story I dont go to an MMO. I make my way to a console game.
MMOs cannot have the same kind of depth that a game tailored around the single player experience. Everyone cannot be the Hero.

MGS4 > anything on PC imo.
Fallout3, GOW2, The force unleashed, Fable 2, Golden axe.........I know what ya mean lol. I will be playing WAR at work and thoes at home untill I get bored with them lol.
This will be an expensive fall for me too, and its due to several of the games the op listed. Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, and undecided when it comes to Spore. I have always argued that console games are fun and just as good as pc games. As for single player games vs mmos I have to say single player games have provdied me with more fun overall, but just not for as long of a time. A single player game provides better story, and immersion then any mmo out there. MMOs just require a lot of time in orfer to help a person get to the point where they feel better about themselves, and are able to brag to others about how good they are. Either that or for the social aspect and ability to play with others, which is why I play mmos. Single player games for the fun of the game and story, mmos for the social enjoyment and ability to play and help others.
tbh i could never play anything but mmo. i a bit frustrated since i really enjoy guitar hero, but cant really get the time for it now when WAR is soon to be released.. and soon there will be Fallout3, and with Diablo3 in development, it makes me sad to know, that there are no really chance that i will be playing em soon... only if WAR fails bigtime ill have the time, but i doubt
I agree with you. There's so many good games coming out for the 360 these days! Fable 2 (pre-ordered LE!), gears of war 2, starwars the force unleashed.... then there's the amazing pc games coming out, Diablo III and Starcraft II (and of course warhammer) just to name a few.
Pick out the top five games you want to play, then make a list of their pros and cons. Eventually, you will come to a decision. I suggest picking two games to buy (I chose warhammer and Fable2) and waiting at least a few months, beating the two games you picked. However, don't pick two games that are similar as you will eventually only be fueled by story to play the game, seeing as how you keep repeating the same general combat styles. (ex: COD 4, Battlefield: Bad company, both modern fps).
Just don't spend all your money on video games. They aren't life... there "fun" time wasters! While games are fun, they are not the only things to do. Go outside, play football, socccer, go out with some beautiful girl, start seeing the world...see what I'm getting at?
Hope this helps.
WAAARRR!
