Will EQ 2 have zones?

Enigma225Enigma225 Member Posts: 30

I really hope they do because thats how the original was. Kinda made navigating easier and seperated zones so newbs didn't wander into higher lvl stuff. I hated AC how you could wander a little way out and there was like stuff 10x levels higher then you right there. In original EQ you would know once you zoned that you were entering a higher lvl area.

    EQ2 is zone based.

Thank god at least that part of EQ will always stay with me even if it changes quite a bit. I HATE how SWG and AC and other games where you could run and run also in DAOC ..... That blew so much because you always would get lost when you first started the game and they also had gay traveling systems consisting of either portals that you had to find or taking ships or horse rides that you had to pay for which took awile to. I love how in EQ all you have to do is do a /who wiz and find one high enough to tele you offer them a couple plat and there you wala no waiting for like 20 min to get place to place.

Will somebody please, please, please tell me why I keep seeing tons of people saying, "I hope they have (fill in the blank) in EQ2 because they had that in the original EQ.". If all those people want everything like EQ why in the hell are they planning on playing EQ2? If these individuals want everything like original EQ they should do everyone a favor and stay the hell in EQ. I for one, do not want to be playing EQ2 and have to hear a bunch of fools complaining about how things are not like they were in the original.

Because people liked EQ so much that they would like some of the excitement from EQ to EQ2... There is absolutely nothing wrong with that unless someone says i hope it is EXACTLY the same.. which would be pointless, obviously things will be different and new.

Just because people liked a certain aspect of EQ, doesn't equal asking for things to be just like EQ in every way. I don't recall having seen anyone ask for EQ2 to be an exact copy of EQ with better graphics. Though alot of fanboi's seem to have the same kneejerk reactionary post as you in reply to anyone mentioning Everquest.

But, as I seem to be having to say to often, why back up your post with facts, when you can just talk out of your ass.

Well, Coldmeat, it seems odd you having any sort of intelligent reactions to anything being you seem nothing more than a pseudo-intellectual and all. Your quasi rational for things are at best a sedate version of reality. You have obviously not heeded much, if any, attention to how things work. All over many boards there are people complaining as to what they want to come over from EQ to EQ2. Even on the main site Moorgard has had to explain, ad nauseun, that EQ2 is a different game. Saying that I am speaking out of my ass is the moronic assumptions of someone who thinks out of theres. And I most say that your ancillary comments arte less than well thougth out. You sound like a child.

And too Coldmeat, an abscure H.P. Lovecraft quote, "Yes yes in his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu lies dreaming", how clever you must feel. Hows that working out for you..being clever? I have read through some of your other posts and you are realy just a bitter, bitchy little man from Omaha. Hell, I would be that way to if I had to live in Omaha, but hey, I love the steaks.

Wait a second... you all like zoning?  Are you kidding me?  I still get nightmares about the "LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..." and I haven't played EQ in years.  Loading zones ruins the immersion, and I for one am not looking forward to it.  It's not a game-breaker by any means, but I can't see how it can be a boon to some of you.  It's not like in WoW it doesn't tell you when you enter a new zone, not to mention you have a detailed map to help you get to where you want to go.  You people are crazy!

Last I read, they discontinued the zoning mobs, decided they didn't add to the "fun."

Can't disagree with their reasons - but I do sometimes wish monsters would be a tad nastier, at least with others. image
