Thanks!  One of my favorite quotes.  So retro sounding too.

The game requires DX9.  It doesn't matter if you use the CD version or the DVD version, it's the same game with the same system requirements.

it isnt like that. You install the game and you never have to use those CDs again until you want to install it again.

I was beeing ironic since a previous poster suggested that that was possible.

omgosh noobs lol the 8x was r.e. the CD ROM speed not the DirectX  lol and yes, whatever you may think, some games not only "are" playable by CD, some actually require it.  lol  image

They only require it for copy protection, and since you will need a station account and unique cd-key to register/login to eq2 I give the chance of using the cd's/dvd's after installation a big 0%.

yeah... this game, if it turns out, which I agree. CD's have not been required, for play, in many of the current online games. image

I will take whatever version the game store has in stock. If they have both, I'd do the DVD version just for ease of install.

keep in mind u need an 8x DVD drive to install. i only have a 4x so i will be getting the CDs. no big deal will only take an hour of your time. since u will be playing this game for years i really dont think it is an issue.
