I've never been more bored waiting for it to set up...and then waiting in an empty virtual room!!!
I don't recommend it. Let's get the discussion here going, things are pretty quiet, which is sad becuase duiring Perpetual's heyday there was a LOT more discussion going on.

Well that is because all of the serious debate and discussions about this game are going on over at StarTrekOnline.com. Over there you can discuss the game in an open atmosphere and not have to worry about people who have no interest in the game coming into the forum just to troll. The diversity of MMORPG.com is one of its best qualities in that you can discuss all of your favorite games in one place but it's also its greatest drawback as well. The official forum has its share of trolls as well but at least they are there because they do have an interest in this game. Here you get a lot of people who come here to follow other games and they think it builds their game up somehow to go and troll other game's forums. At STO.com you don't have to deal with that particular brand of troll so it makes it a better place to converse about the game.
As for the Google virtual chat room.......I went and checked it out but you have to jump through to many hoops just to get into the thing so I don't see too many people using it. You would be better off just starting a MSN or YAHOO chat room as most already have that software installed and it would be much easier. Virtual chat experiences are really cool and I do believe in the future all forums and chat sites will be set up that way but right now with todays tech they are just a pain in the butt for the average user to access. Nice try though.....you get an A for effort.

I found Google Lively to be limiting. A better social 3D system is MV Places by Multiverse. Both have their pros and cons, but I see Multiverse as a better system.
And that is why...
Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.
Yeah, I would have to agree there. It's a little harder to set up but you get so much more from it than you do with Lively. But still it's a bit complicated for your average forum goer so my original thoughts still applies. If you are going to go through the trouble to install software of this type though I would recommend Multiverse as you get more than just chat rooms from it. Some MMOs in development are even using the Multiverse engine and client.
