Exploration

What most intrigues me about this game is the exploration aspects. I have read from several sources that killing stuff will not be the only way to progress in SGW, and this is what I am looking forward to the most. Basically, I am just curious how much explorable area to you plan to have open at launch and what type of rewards to you plan to include for avid explorer types?

I know that they have a lot for us to explore but I'm curious to the rewards as well.

I couldn't agree more with this thread! I'm really excited about the exploration aspect of this game and would love to hear how it comes into play with rewards/leveling up. I've heard there will be something like 40 worlds to explore when the game comes out and can't wait to see what they come up with.

Hopefully we can see some more screenshots soon... PLEASE!! The graphics look fantastic, and I'd love to see what other parts of the game look like and to learn how much exploration will come into play!

Same here, I'm real interested it exploring the areas... I love the concept art that they've posted on the site.

I'm gunna be an Asgard ninja with an emphasis on exploring.

Yes, the exploration and puzzle solving aspect are something I am really looking forward to.

However, I like blowing things up too! Hope that's part of the game.

I want to be a Wraith... Would be a really interesting race to play. Having to rely on humans for food and such. Kind of like a vampire, but with worse acting skills and face gills .

bad news Nu, There will not be wraith in the first part of the game, of course there will be expansions where perhaps there could be a wraith character. though at the moment at game release there will not be wraith.

however.. they could later on.. make events that have wrait zerg invasions inem .. ! force ppl to flee from their planets if they cant put up a strong enough defence! etc.

I thought I read somewhere earlier today that the first expansion planned for SGW was Atalntis. Would make sense to add the Wraith as a playable character then.

yes the first expansion planned for SGW after the release is the Atlantis, what races or what is the plan for it, is still unknown.

exploration is a topic that i feel is a lil bit grey..... one thing that i and lot of people would love is owning your own personal ship

who wouldnt want their own personal jumper to fly around and take from planet to planet

just a thought

Ya but that would depend on what faction you are in. If your a SG team than you dont get a personal ship unless your higher ranks gives you a ship like in the show and you gotta be pretty high rank like Colonel. That is if the game is even made like that. Same for almost every other race like the Jaffa, loyal Jaffa, and asgard. Every faction is some form of military organizarion. The only race i could think of that could have a personal ship are the go'auld. Maybe those evil humans they are making can have a personal ships since they seem like mercenary type of people.

But even if they do allow personal ships, it prolly will not be in release.

I'm the same way. In every MMO I have ever played, what made it or broke it for me was whether there was a real since of wild exploration. No auto fill maps or the like. Maps are good, but they can also tear up your whole since of exploration in a game. There is nothin like having to remember where to go. Getting lost in a huge forest. 40+ worlds sounds great! I can't wait, I have all the seasons of SG-1 and Atlantis, and props from the show. I can't wait to see what the intelligent interaction between sentient beings is gonna be like!

Yay! someone else who actually read about the game! I'm really hoping that the maps won't be autofill. Half the fun of going to a new world will be exploring it. I don't want to know there's a village just over that hill there until I walk over that hill.
