Need Software Help Plz!!!

ApsPlaceApsPlace Member Posts: 134

Alright, so, I just recently bought a Dell Inspiron Model PC but have a problem getting some software on there, and I trust the answers i recieve from here, so thats why i chose to post it. First of all, of course my new pc has Vista. My wife needs to install the software Microsoft Publisher because she needs to use the program to create some calenders for things. Anyways, that software is the 2002 version, but its not just the software, its called the Windows XP Small Business. Its included on this CD. Now, i talked to dell and they said that the 2002 version should work, just like how my 2003 Microsoft Student edition with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook does.

My question for anybody who can help is isthere any way for me to pick apart the CD so i can just  install Microsoft Publisher. Like would there be a seperate  setup.exe for Publisher on the disk or wat? Or if thats not possible, is there anyway that i could put the program i had on my old computer on like a jumpdrive or someting and then transfer it over? I just really need this program on my new computer and honestly don't feel like spending the $110 on the software if i already have it, call me cheap,but w.e, ha!

So, i know this is kind of a drag, but if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    I'm pretty certain that when going through the installation process it should give options such as;

    Recommended

    Full

    Custom / Advanced

    something like that, if you choose custom install it should allow you to select only the parts of the suite you want to install.

    Hope this helps.

    Well, not sure about that version but it should have a custom install options like the earlier ones.

    An evil person would probably download the latest version from pirate bay since he have paid for a full version and ms is to cheap to patch their program expecting you to buy a new one every year for a high price but that would be illegal (at least in most countries) and therefor Im not reccomending it.

    Anyways, microsoft sucks, good luck.
