If only Funcom had listen to what I told them in beta.. I knew most of what was going to go wrong when they released it. Its a shame that even in year 2008 MMO companies still close their ears and eyes to the huge database input from experienced gamers. The data is worth millions, if you just knows what to do with it. Communication is the key to sucess, something Funcom completly forgot.

I think even in the case of being treated like a criminal, it depends on what version of WoW you play. It seems like Blizzard in the US was ban-happy. In Europe, I didn't see anyone or know of anyone getting banned. I even saw some pretty borderline names, horrible attitudes, and blatant exploitation. One of my mates who bought powerleveling services and got hacked even didn't get banned though it was absolutely obvious he did. Blizzard gave him back his account only saying 'thank you for playing World of Warcraft' and he could continue to break the rules of the game lol.

Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.

Yes, thats true. I know how bad the Blizzard customer support is in Europe.. its a shame. But WoW is the best MMO there is, simply as that. Strange you may think, since we live in year 2008.

If only game companies made could communicate better with their player base.. but its too much money involved, and they want to control the ship on their own.. which is usually the downfall for many projects.

It could be a good idea if they disable the EULA clicky on trial accounts. It could make sense.

That Bill of Rights is worthless. Its so vague and generic that NO company out there that bought into it would be releasing games at all. Its just wishful thinking from the playerbase.

"If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike"

The Gamer's Bill of Rights was put together by Stardock, developer and publisher of Sins of a Solar Empire, amongst other titles. Not the playerbase.

It's still an ideological utopia, but I certainly wouldn't mind if EA stopped bundling their games with malware, or the suggested minimum system specs would actually let you run the game in question on low settings with a steady ~35 FPS.

    Here's Funcoms version:

    Funcoms Rights (gamers are stupid)

1: Show boobs they will buy it.

2: Make vaporware promises near sub time they will stay.

3: Promise them the world they will believe you ( mention #1).

4: Lower prices on riding skill books and bags they will stay.

5: Promise the massive PVP in every update to keep them subscribed (mention #1).

6: Mention expansion when new  games ae ready to come out, show some concept art with bigger boobs if needed.

7: Tell them we have created test servers to improve quality of the patches lol.

8: Promise features we listed on box for months to buy time for development.

9: Begin endless class balance cycle to show we are making changes.

10: If subs are low tell them we are making boobs bigger (show Pamela Anderson pic).

There you have it right from a framed copy over Erlings desk.

In general I found the European WoW community to be pretty nice. We usually police ourselves but are lenient about somethings. I only ever dealt with WoW CSRs once when I saw a Rogue bot running around a cave killing things that people need for a quest in Hellfire Peninsula. I got a reply very quickly though I don't know how it was resolved.

It's sad about AoC... do you know that AO had one of the best CSR systems in the old days? Not only did you get greeted personally by an ARK but the GMs used to be really helpful and nice. FC was touted as having a great ingame CSR system. Siggghh...
