WAR is losing its luster....

I was one of those people who was 100% going to get WAR when it came out. But I got a big shock like a lot of people when Darkfall posted its video and turned out to be real. WAR is a horribly EASY MODE game just like WOW. Your quests are all just given to you even being shown on the map where to go. No penalties for dying and no looting so everyone will have the same equipment running around at the end game UGH! I know Darkfall still might not come out but the fun factor looks amazing. WAR really is a WOW alternative same childish easy play with some RVR tossed in. I would love to build my own city or destroy someone elses instead of watching little kids try and set up a chicken zerg. If Darkfall puts any more meaningful info out before WAR release I probaly wont get it. But if they don't I'll probaly get WAR just as a place holder.

I feel that differently, they serve a different type of gamer, whereas WOW caters for the grinders and achievers WAR is more suitable for teamplayers, people who like interaction and big pvp scenario's.

Darkfall most likely will stink in the same way AOC did. Even if it is good they are going to need at least another 6 months to release it most likely. Why not just play both if the post isn't just a troll post.
That darkfall trailer looked horrible but I try not to judge games by trailers alone. (though the ship battle looked neat and the big battle towards the end was decent)

I saw the video and was like WTF? This game has been hyped for ages and it looks crap. The gameplay does look good though with the freedom but actually its made me more hungry for WAR. Also why are there so many WAR l00kz b0r1ng and n0th1ng n3w threads? Its not going to effect my opinion of it.
hahah god....now the DF fanbois are in the WAR section trying to recruit...sorry but I had a blast during the WAR preview weekend and i cant wait for OB...DF doesn't have anything new or exciting for me so Im not even going to bother with it...and that trailer sucked really bad.

Darkfall looks like a load of junk with its inconsistent artwork, horrible game models, uninspired mechanics, lazy design direction, and a very unoriginal game. Please for the love of god, drop Darkfail in the toilet and flush it. Just give up on this crap.
WAR will DESTROY its competition when word starts to get out more and more about how epicly competitive its going to be. Its not as easy as you claim it to be either. Using that same logic I suppose you could claim all MMO's are easy then. ANY game that requires for you to use certain skills in a certain situation and forces you to be quick on the draw is not easy. Its not like EQ2 or WoW where you just spam your ordered skill list from left to right with the occasional trinket use. WAR requires on the ball thought and consideration of the scenario around you.

WAR appeals to casual gamestyle - login, kick some butt and have a few laughs on the way, logout
DF (as far as we know) is going to be quite a bit more "serious"-like... something along the lines of EVE for example.
If DF releases with all the features and as-intended by the devs it still won't be a competition to WAR. They are different games belonging to different gaming niches. I really don't see anyone leaving one game for the other.
Personally, if DF turns out to be everything (or most of) what the devs promised I'll play it along with WAR, no problem. WAR is going to be my casual have-a-romp-with-buddies game and DF is for more dastardly moments when I feel like playing a bastard. The thing is I don't have the time anymore to play a "serious" game "seriously" (sob, EVE would if i've known you..
) but DF will fit my solo-ganker-lurking-in-a-forest bill just nicely.
Don't get me wrong... i'm not hyped over darkfall at all (i was 3 years ago but oh well)... but it's funny to see people yell "omg! ugly graphix! sux!"... even funnier when you see the same people got mad when ppl said the same about war and told them "omg! it's betam you noob!" hehehe...
anyhow... like previously stated... darkfall and war are different games just like wow and war... those 3 games don't attract the same audience... while wow is a pve grind game... war is a casual pvp team game... and darkfall is a hardcore pvp game... while there are players who can enjoy 2 or even all 3 games... most players will stick to one of those...
How can a game not even officially released yet lose it's luster ? Sometimes it is just really scary how anyone can come to this conclusion. I am far from a diehard here but that is just way off base to even consider.
well deppends... if someone said "i played if for 2 days during the preview weekend and i'm starting to get bored"... that would be VERY bad... 'specialy if 80% of the gamers who played it think the same hehe... but if someone who never even played the game thinks like that after watching a vid of people jumping around a zone and using auto attack... that's doesn't speak well for the OP

Darkfall looks horrible, did you see that new trailer, worse mmo trailer i have ever seen. this thred has to be a joke right? you would have a better chance saying vanguard is better.
I kept up with Darkfall way back before we all thought it turned into vaporware and they said it was going to be a hardcore pvp MMO (kill enemy's ANYWHERE and loot their bodys). If they are sticking with that, it will not be a game for everybody.

Darkfall is vaporware. I'm assuming the OP missed the previous trailers that have been released throughout the years.
I'm so tired of failed MMO's that sell sizzle without having the steak ready yet. I'm tired of giving those companies my money and my time.
Warhammer could be another such game, it is so hard to tell because nobody does truly objective reviews these days. However, this company has seemed more focused on quality of product and experience than others. I will give them a chance.
Darkfall gives me the same sorts of vibes that games like Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Sea and Age of Conan did. I'm not ready to drink that kool-aid... I will wait and see.
Trust me, we don't want the zergers. Really, we don't.
They'll log in, get PK'ed and suddenly understand what "Full loot" is all about.
