Great game, love the RvR, Mythic is a great company, but not really for me. The game felt too segmented and really really destroyed my freedom. It all felt rather artificial, and I generally play MMos for the living world/community. BUT, the seamless PvE world of DAoC was one of the reasons people never made it to RvR, so I suppose WAR is sort of a compromise, blurring the lines between PvE and RvR. I honestly prefered the DAoC world though.

I have the CE on preorder, been following WAR for almost 2 years now, and I LOVE the game, but I have to disagree strongly.

WAR will never get anywhere near what WoW is currently, and WoW will be staying where it is for a good time to come.  even if WAR is a great game it still won't be that successful.

also Mythic belongs to EA.  EA is a very strong company with or without WAR, so buying their stocks would be a good investment, but not just because of WAR (though if WAR can cap out at 500k subs in a few months, it really won't hurt)

    Thanks for the chuckle.

WAR shares the same combat features EQ1 did and EQ1 is a 10 year old game.

WAR has no fear, no charge, no blink, no distract, no flare, no mind control...

Oh yeah, EQ1 had stealth, WAR doesn't.

WAR will have fewer subs than LOTRO three months after release.

If I had a ton of money, I'd invest a good deal of it in the stock of this game. I can't wait to play, I literally can't. Time is moving far too slowly at the moment.

stealth isn't a big deal in this game.

...anyway this is a good MMO and I'm sure will get better as time goes by because They have such a huge IP to work with. I don't think it will beat wow but i do think that WAR will make a nice enough dent in the NA/EU sub numbers to let blizzard know that its only a matter of time before they go down the same path as many MMOs before them.

Kinda confused at your point. Are you saying its the WoW killer? Or are you simply saying its alot more fun than WoW?

If you say its alot more fun than WoW then I agree.

If your saying its going to be a WoW killer then no I dont agree. Unless Mythic caters to the asian gamer cafe's there isnt a chance in hell it will take WoW down.

I am a WAR fanboy but I'm also realistic. Without the Asian market no MMO stands a chance to dethrone WoW.

no fear thank god for that nothing i hate more is running around like a moron and fear spammed to death.I think the cc in war has been toned down and for good reason.

WAR won't kill WoW, not by a long shot. It's too similar and WoW has a lot more content and is a lot more polished.

You can't kill WoW by releasing similar playstyle. The only game that will kick WoW of it's throne will be a game that is completely different from WoW.

Let's not pretend WAR is something that didn't copy a lot of thing of WoW shall we.

No one cares about WAR in Asia, WoW on the other hand is huge there, this is the number one reason why WAR can never win.

    Thanks for the laugh though.

well warhammer stays true to the ip the only way its similar is that its a fantasy mmo.their are a lot of differences between the two games. The main one is that warhammer is going to be better. The majority of wow community is looking for something new and warhammer provides that. With the product that mythic has done i think it can steer a lot of the fan base away from world of warcraft.

This game has the potential to be the best mmorpg simply because it is the easiest mmorpg out there.

If you thought WoW was noob friendly, wait till you play WAR!

I'm really wary of the hype. I've been dissapointed so many times before by games that were supposed to be "revolutionary" or "the next WoW".

I'm signed up for the CE Headstart and Open Beta access, so I'll soon be able to judge the game for myself, and I'm really really really hoping that this MMO doesn't fall into the trap of being too oriented at the mid-game while completely ignoring the end-game.

For me, that's what ruined Tabula Rasa and is slowly ruining Age of Conan. I've always held the opinion that the levelling process is merely an extended tutorial which slowly introduces you to the nuances of your chosen character by providing new skills/spells every few levels and giving you time to play around with them before finally hitting the level cap and starting to really play the game.

I've read a few of the developer comments and those have been very encouraging; the first thought that popped into my mind was that WAR was going to be WoW 2.0 without the life-sucking PVE raids and with meaningful, engaging  PVP.

I hope that will be the case because, (as burned out on WoW as I am), I believe that it was a revolutionary game and did a lot of things right.
