The video was great when watched in the original HD format. My pros and cons of the video.
Pros.
Fast paced battles.
Great raiding potential and siege combat.
Asheron's call style aim and launch magic combat.
An open persistent style world and great design.
Crafting looked cool even though it wasn't shown but for few seconds.
Boat Warfare.
Cons.
The game was shot with medium graphics.
Particle effects got turned to far down.
Hovering siege vehicles.
Over powered siege weapons.
No real evidence of the UI.
My concerns are the hovering siege vehicles. WTF is that lol. They do not belong here, why are they in this game they look stupid. They also are way over powered I think when you watch how quickly they destroyed that town.
The choppy animations was due to the video capture device that was used. In order to get the full animations and smoothness in a gameplay trailer you need to run it 1:1 so every frame captured is the full game frame and not 3/4 or whatever this one was done at.
Yes I know why they used the lower frame capture I did video editing and capturing for years. In order for them to not of shown a choppy animations would result in a video file over 3 to 4 GB in size. Who wants to torrent and download a 4 GB file? Also lowering the graphics helped save that size for them I suspect.
Overall really nice. I would loved to of seen a UI and some full frame captured videos even if they are short 20 secs, they should of released one those. The biggest thing they got to deal with for me at least and most of the fans is the HOVERING SIEGE VEHICLES, these are just dumb and need to be taken out of the game.

For those who are going off the Youtube videos you need to understand there is no real HD codec to run those videos at the resolution that was captured. Try playing it in Divix player or your media player 9 to see the HD quality.
This makes a huge difference. Looking at the Youtube videos makes you go WTF OUCH!!!!

This is going to be very buggy. WoW had to do in-house testing for this. AoC couldn't do this, despite this being their 2nd MMO. And WAR has this in a partially NPC controlled, partial player controlled setup. For Darkfall to be very interactive on par with the giants... this is going to be the buggiest thing anyone will ever hope for from a first-time MMO development crew.
Based on the video I don't think it was that hard for them. They have each building piece and objects with its own health points. After it takes more damage then max hit points the items just disappear. This helps with lag and allows for destruction. Siege based combat will go really nice I think. Get your guilds and your city up and prosper. Head out and conquer. I just hope that the servers are not laggy and we have US based servers as well. I just hope it is really well balanced.
If Darkfall fails I will go back to AC forever, however; that will be a slow transition to get max levels again.

uhm AC is auto target.
this here required skill, ac just requires a good ping. I played ac 7 years and know the difference between 50 ping in the us and 350 ping in denmark.
the way you win pvp fight in ac is animation breaking, breaking the intended mechanics of the game that turbine was too sloppy to fix.
df is aim, fire, hit, maybe... or hit your friends. you don hit your friends with fireballs in ac.
sure ac requires some dodging. and it requires alot of twitch + good ping in mage fights, but this game will require uber teamwork in order to win, its a whole new game.

Hmm yeah but I mostly am talking about dodgeing magics and how you do PVP in AC. Great AC PVP players will know what I am talking about, how we striff side to side and cast magic at one another, it was great. I shouldn't have said it that way in the thread your right it confused some AC fans.
