Shoo.
I'm hoping that there will be raids like DAoC's old dragon raids, server wide events trying to kill a dragon with a 200+ PuG those were very fun altough we never managed to kill it.
If I never participate in another PvE raid in my whole life I'll die a happy man.
Lulz. I don't think I ever heard of a server beating the Albion dragon. I tried it myself several times. Once with a group of about 200, a couple other times with as many as 400. That thing was damn near impossible to kill, at least when I played.
About "pvp being exceptional": the only thing that worries me is that many people have reported about the combat being slow and boring. And this is the first time I see so much concern about this for a game.
Seeing how combat is slow and boring in most of the western games (vanguard, eq2, lotro, etc... compared to the asian mmos they all have slow and boring combat), but for all of these games there never was so much concern and posts about the slow/boring combat than what we have seen in these threads regarding WAR. And slow and boring combat is what makes those games boring to play for me.
I prefer the fast and furious action we have seen in Darkfall and the asian combat style, or the interesting AoC style. Good combat alone can already make a game fun to play.
You are talking about "exceptional pvp". Is the slow WAR combat making the game boring to play? I don't know as I haven't played it. But from the videos I have seen and the overwealming posts about this on these forums... I am worried.
How can pvp be exceptional if combat is boring? (acording to all of the player reports and videos).

Didn't they nurf them dragons later on?
I remember killing the Midgard Dragon...
Anyway, i think they will add some more PvE after release... espescially some nice 1 or 2 group instancess at max level...
And i would not be surprised if there would be some high end encounters requiring a complete warbad (48 pax)
But not before they added the 4 missing cities...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
My experience during preview week is that it's fast and furious. I know I was hitting an attack, heal, debuff (depending on character) every 1.5 seconds! Moving positioning, trying to monitor my allies and my enemies. I never found it slow. I liked it better than DAOC in that I felt there was better balance. I liked the fact that if you weren't a complete idiot and tried to individually rush into an enemy zerg you'd last at least a little while before dying and if you got some support you'd take a few enemies down.
Basically I had a blast doing the RvR scenarios. The only slow parts are the stand offs where the ranged characters were dueling it out, but if 3 or more melees rushed it got interesting fast.
Once the guilds get established it's going to be a tactical bloodfest with huge warbands moving strategically across the map!
Ah ok aranon, that's some good news
There are 3 T4 "raid" dungeons, they can all be done with 1 group I beleive. Although there are PQs in each of the dungeons that you would probably have to bring a two or three groups to kill. I think thats it for the end game PvE atm.

I saw a 48 lord walking around in a PQ in altdorf during the PW. I have no idea how anyone got to the thrid stage of the PQ but they did. I would guess that a lord 8 ranks above max rnak would require a full WB and then some.
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.
If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

Yep, they nerfed the waggins when Mythic became painstakingly aware that the waggings weren't actually wagins, but rather were gods. I quit before the nerf, though. Pity.
I would personally like to see the public quest idea expanded on and turned into a "raid" type things also.
increase the reset timer and so forth.... I think that would rock
What I really don't understand is where these posts come from that say combat is boring. The combat in WAR is very similar to WOW, and really not that much different than any other MMO. IS everyone saying that combat in all those games is boring too?
I've read all those posts and I played the beta, and I still ponder as to why people say that. Now I assume that those came from haters and trolls, rather than people who know what they are talking about. The combat is fine, nothing too new, nothing old, exactly what you would expect.
yeah I don't know where that's coming from either. WAR's PvP always felt fast and furious to me. Imagine WoW combat but with every class doing damage and not just sitting back and healing or mining for minerals .
Then imagine WoW combat and times the number of people per battle x 10. Then you have WAR.
No way they are going have a boring slow combat system.
In BETA you get a lot of people that dont have a clue what BETA is for and how to test games professionally.
Out of that process you get a whole lot of negative posts and reviews becasue by and large Little Billy doesnt understand what is going on.
After Little Billy Beta tester submitted his info re something he found that ws wrong and didnty getr a personal cal lfrom the MD of the company he gets pissed off and starts spouting crap.
Now I am not saying people that legitimately said oh btw the comabt is a bit slow in BETA are a bunch of fools, most are clearly not, but you are stupid if you look at BETA issues out of context and start trying to crunch the numbers and scenarios in your head to predict what the release version of the game is going to be.
It is like sitting in a F1 race car thats on a ramp with the wheels off while the mechanics are testing the on board computer and then writing a review saying the car is crap it doesnt go anywhere !
Caveat Emptor
I don't care if they add PVE raids, as long as the rewards are below that of RvR. Why? PvE is easy-mode, and you shouldn't be heavily rewarded for beating a scripted event.
