Well i guess your post answered my questions as to when beta was coming back up!

I was beginning to think that after a week down it'd surely be up this next week. Not a chance now.

Well one thing i'm glad for is this, that i won't burn out on the game at all before it even gets released.

I guess i understand why Mythic went and cut capitol cities til later after release, seems the release date was really right around the corner.

Hi, my name is Gina and I am addicted to Warhammer.

After playing the preview weekend, I can't wait for the open beta to arrive, and considering neglecting my hubby, (he's going to play too) my daughter who is in high school, (she can buy her own copy dammit) and my cat. Well, if you know cats, they are mostly independant unless they want food or petting.

Anyhow, is there going to be a nightly group with coffee and goodies at this meeting? I'll bring the cheesecake.

Seems like the place to pipe in..

I've come in late to the WAR thing, but been all over the website and YouTube and am def pre-ordering now.

Found out my local store has pre-order packs in stock, so will go pick one up tomorrow.

    My question is this...

Does the pre-order pack include discs of the game? Or do I need to download the client?

And if I need to download the client, does anyone know how big it is please?

(Damn Australian internet and their GB caps..).

And just to clarify, I need to get one of these pre-order packs to get in on the 7th and then ALSO need to buy the game?

And hell, while I'm asking, does anyone know what's in the Collector's Edition please? Cause I can get one of them if I want to.

Sorry if this has all been answered before.. this forum moves fast.

    Cheers peoples.

For the US version no disks , download from File Planet. I think there is a Bit Torrent version also. 9.34 GB size. So far the FP downloader has crapped out twice on me, once at 6 GB and luckily it picked up where it left off on a restart but then at 9.2GB the darn thing stalled and refused to pick back up  even after I rebooted, defragged the drive and everything else I could think of. I ended up reinstalling the DL manager and of course had to start the DL all over again since the DL manager refused to recognize the 9.2 file as valid  grrrr... if it does the same crap again I will go Bit Torrent I guess.

If you can get hold of a open beta key you will not need a pre order pack.

Oh and as far as the OP. RvR is a lot of fun, but if I do it night after night it gets old. I played DAoC for about 2 and a half years or so, I palyed from about a month after release tll a couple of months past Shrouded Isles.  First as a Alb, then Hib, and even tried a Middy. The first 6 months was great, but after a while the RvR gets old. Imagine playing nothing but CS night after night and you will see what I mean. I will paly War as a secondary game, but I cannot imagine it becoming  my primary. I will just use it to replace EQII as a change of pace game more than likely.

    I miss DAoC

On a GOOD note...this time 1 week from now we should have been playing for 24 hours (ish). I'll have to make sure to encourage my wife to go out shopping and/or visiting with friends next Sunday. Weeeee!

Jackdog, thanks a lot mate, awesome responses.

9+gb, not too bad then. Will definitely go directly for the torrent file.

Cheers for all the other info too mate, much appreciated.

actually if you have a preorder code i believe file planet lets you directly download now my kiwi friend, saves you burning your upload band with torrents.  also while we bought all the american ces there may be some left down under im not sure but ask cause we collectors get all sorts of goodies including a special head for every race (the orc one has a steel plate over half the head and his right eye very neat=D) and out of game box goodies too.

Been trying so hard to not get really into Warhammer Online, as I havent even played it and I'm afriad that I might be getting my hopes up.  Its just so damn hard... I'm now well and truly wanting to give up WoW, I'm just fed up of raiding and I want some meaningful and balanced (too within a logical degree) PvP / RvR.

Hi, my names Ryo and I'm soon to become a WARaholic / addicted to WARcrack.

Ive been doing the Warcrack casually and hardcore for the past year.  It's tough at times. Just when you think you can walk away its silky smooth embrace just calls you back. Thank god the sweet sweet bastards at EA/Mythic granted me Elder status and once again had mercy on me by giving more of the beautiful nectar that is WAR.

    aahh...

    Cheers!
