Quite content with LOTRO

With so much talk about this being bad and that being bad, it is not too often that someone just says they are fine with something. Sure there are things that change could help, but these things are not make or break. I was quite content with UO for a little over a year, Everquest for about 5 years. WoW for 3ish years, and now Lord of the Rings Online. (There have been many other games I have played, but I was not so content with them.)

I have found myself able to log on at any time, and find something of interest to do. There are always new people to meet, fights to attempt, and quests, rep, instances, and some other activities to work on. I believe I partake in every part of this game and it is fun. I am certain this can be said as to many games, but I am saying it for this game, for myself.

Feel free to join me in my contentment, just don't expect to be holding my hand or anything wierd.

    Hear hear!

Whilst understanding the few (and only a very small few) flaws that LOTRO has or could be improved on, I too am very content with the game and will be for a while to come. I have not had a continued subscription to another game before LOTRO since SWG was alive and kicking between 2003 and 2005.

All other MMO's i've played have only been on and off and not lasted half as long.

Good for you! And good for me too!

I've played LotRO since closed beta.

My wife and I both are lifetime subscribers and we both play LotRO as our casual MMO.

Also, if you guys have a bit of spare time and would like to help out the community the LotROVault is looking for volunteers .

I have to add my own voice in on this and agree with the OP.  There are many MMO-style of games out there, that no single one could ever possibly supply 'everything' for everyone.

LOTRO satisfies both my and my wife's exploration and questing desires, we still enjoy discovering new places as we take our time getting to level 50, our primary characters just reached 49 and we've just started doing the quests in Forochel.

We're enjoying it immensely, and we both agree that LOTRO reminds us of our previous ventures with other MMO's before we decided to move on from them.

I understand that there are those out there that enjoy PVP, and stress how LOTRO isn't 'real PVP'.  Yet I don't play games to bring additional stress into my life that PVP can bring, I get enough of that with my professional life, and my personal life with my family.  I play games to destress, I want to enjoy the time I get to spend with my wife online without having to worry about ganking.

We're lifetime members, we've played the game since closed Alpha Stage One.  We've seen the game emerge from "paste on' trees to the lush forest that's represented today.  We're quite happy with our investment, and look forward to the future with Mines of Moria and beyond.

LoTRO is the best PvE game out there right now bar none. Best graphics, best quests, stable, runs on a lot of different machines and let's not forget the best community. Now it's PvP is a bit lacking, never could really get into it much. WAR will be probably be a great PvP game but I bet the PvE will be lacking. Therefore I plan on playing LoTRO for the PvE,  and trying WAR for some good old RvR PvP. If I like it I will sub and play it a couple of times a week along with a healthy dose of LoTRO several times a week.

Life is too short to play just one game. I amjust playing the darn things, not marrying them

    I miss DAoC
