You and your fanboy buddies need to riot and demand developer podcasts that show what they're working on, that show all the things they promised, and that show...well, a game, not just movie-type fighting. THAT will convince 99% of the people who didn't like this trailer (including me). Then we can more accurately judge if we'll like the game or not...if they deliver things smoothly/completely.

Actually, I was volunteering on Darkfall's staff ages ago (i've long since quit) and I can tell you for a fact that paid employees of competitors do troll the forum. One of the moderators even caught a FunCom employee posting from work (Oops, forgot to hide that IP) and FunCom later publicly apologized for it on their forums. He certainly wasn't the only or the last competitor to do so. So there's your concrete evidence.
DF fans, I saw all 6 videos launched today on YouTube in high quality.. still downloading the torrent video.... But if this seriously makes you excited and drool... then I hate to say this... but there is already a game that looks as good or better, with probably 10 times the content out. Full PvP, looting, skills, great crafting and loot, etc. I will admit that I didn't think the video would come out today. Figured it would be a couple more weeks. However, as I suspected they didn't show nearly as much single player 3rd person perspective game play as I would have hoped for. I understand why they showed it the way that they did. Makes it look more exciting and dramatic to show it in the fashion that they did. I will almost guarantee you fans though that a 9 year old PvP game that exists right now is better, smoother, and already out. Simply log onto the Darktide server of Asheron's Call right now and get just as good of graphics with TONS of content, smooth gameplay, tons of skills you can completely vary your avatar with and change individually with use and experience earned. Sure, there isn't a lot of players now, but in two months after Darkfall launches, when it launches, there will probably not be many players there either.. if it lasts that long. If it launches and cannot support all the players or is very bug ridden, then most of the people who try it will eventually get frustrated and leave. And there may not be as many players buying this game as you think. I can say after watching these videos that I am extremely confident that Asherons Call is a better game, with just as good of graphics as Darkfall will ever be. And it is going to be going on its 10th year in November people. I will admit that I was wrong about Darkfall not launching soon. I admit that I now think it has a good chance of launching within the next six months or so. I certainly have concerns which I think are legitimate that it will have many bugs, lag, and other problems that may be very slow for such a small team to fix when it does launch however. There is no perma death in Darkfall, even the most hardcore PVP fans would probably agree thats taking it a bit too far. Life as a griefer won't be as easy as you think it is. Eve has a similar ruleset and it has best economy of any game.

Griefers will find themselves outcasted and/or can be dealt with through pvp, while in past games they could hide behind game mechanics.

What is cool is that DF devs have stated that they will not be releasing a spell list for all of its 500ish spells. They say some fansites will probably come up with it eventually, but they want to keep it part of the experience, which is AMAZING.
Since anyone can train any skill at any time, there is no gimping your character.

Also, there were plenty of first person shots in the video, although it was primarily shot from a 3rd party perspective in order to show the battles and possibilies of this game because it has been awhile since the community has seen all these possibilities put together in one game. The archer in the tree scene, people using the cannons, all had first person perspective...but i guess you missed that. It was 100% ingame footage, if you really cant see that, well then i guess that proves you are just a troll, or cant read.

Well since Zaxx (The OP) already apologized for this thread and other comments in this forum he made about the video this whole thread is pretty much a moot point now. He already admitted that he jumped to his conclusions he made in this thread based on only viewing the low quality YouTube trailer and later recanted. It's funny, some of you think WAR developers are paying trolls to post here? Are you kidding me? WAR doesn't even probably know Darkfall is coming out and if it does, I can assure you they don't care. I would have to say if anything Darkfall fans are the trolls. If someone has a criticism of the game you call them a troll, laugh at them, tell them to leave, and say they can't comment on a game that isn't out... yet you do the SAME thing. Say it looks great and it WILL be great with no real basis. While that video was cool and I agree "epic"... it was all hype. It didn't show but 10% of what they claim to offer.
We all want a new sandbox game but don't try to force that desire into a reality from what we have seen about this game so far. Before it was obvious it wasn't a reality yet. Then this video came out which was like a neat movie, but somehow you took that little bit of hope and turned it into a fact this game will launch perfectly without bugs and have everything it is promising, that that is quite a reach.
Darktide is full of Carebears/WoWbies who are 33% level/skill capped and just fight around the only worthwhile hunt in the game. Turbine would axe the server and start it over if they had any care for a new generation of players.
OP: you saw video's? and you make all these assumptions on it without even playing/testing the game? Talk about unexperienced, seriously I could understand a topic like this if it was based on actually played facts, but instead like many game basher we see jealousy and unexperienced people come to forums to speak about things they don't know anything about..........yet....except from some video's or interviews.
And again I will not comment on the game that much until I have seen it on my system/screen. Just wondering why so many people already have to make topics like this which obviously don't make much sense at this time of the game.

The problem is not that there is no guarantee, the problem is that there is no game. Videos are great. I like to rent them at Blockbuster. But Videos are not games. You can only watch a video, not play it like a game.
I hope DF is released and attracts its target audience of "hard core pvp'ers" and is successful with its niche market. Hopefully, those type of players will all be concentrated in DF so they'll leave the "carebear" players to enjoy their games without having to deal with the griefing, ganking pvp douche bags.
All kidding aside, more quality mmo's, no matter what type they are, is a good thing for all of us.

I mean is a game not a run for life i rather would like that they dont show too much so we dont need to run and we can find it out actually playing (That is the fun part too often ruined and spoiled by everybody that look for solution/answer on the forums)
What is cool is that DF devs have stated that they will not be releasing a spell list for all of its 500ish spells. They say some fansites will probably come up with it eventually, but they want to keep it part of the experience, which is AMAZING.
Since anyone can train any skill at any time, there is no gimping your character.

maybe he doesn't hate AC because AC is an actual game and he may have been playing AC for years, instead of only looking at a url describing AC?

Sounds like you need to figure it out.
Also, there were plenty of first person shots in the video, although it was primarily shot from a 3rd party perspective in order to show the battles and possibilies of this game because it has been awhile since the community has seen all these possibilities put together in one game. The archer in the tree scene, people using the cannons, all had first person perspective...but i guess you missed that. It was 100% ingame footage, if you really cant see that, well then i guess that proves you are just a troll, or cant read.

Well since Zaxx (The OP) already apologized for this thread and other comments in this forum he made about the video this whole thread is pretty much a moot point now. He already admitted that he jumped to his conclusions he made in this thread based on only viewing the low quality YouTube trailer and later recanted. So using this thread as a vehicle for trolling this forum is kinda dumb as the OP himself doesn't believe the things he posted here anymore. Let this thread die please.

Also, if you discover a rare spell, you might wanna hold on that one yourself. It could help you to survival in combat, ot help your city to endure sieges.

It's funny, some of you think WAR developers are paying trolls to post here? Are you kidding me? WAR doesn't even probably know Darkfall is coming out and if it does, I can assure you they don't care. I would have to say if anything Darkfall fans are the trolls. If someone has a criticism of the game you call them a troll, laugh at them, tell them to leave, and say they can't comment on a game that isn't out... yet you do the SAME thing. Say it looks great and it WILL be great with no real basis. While that video was cool and I agree "epic"... it was all hype. It didn't show but 10% of what they claim to offer.
We all want a new sandbox game but don't try to force that desire into a reality from what we have seen about this game so far. Before it was obvious it wasn't a reality yet. Then this video came out which was like a neat movie, but somehow you took that little bit of hope and turned it into a fact this game will launch perfectly without bugs and have everything it is promising, that that is quite a reach.
Darktide is full of Carebears/WoWbies who are 33% level/skill capped and just fight around the only worthwhile hunt in the game. Turbine would axe the server and start it over if they had any care for a new generation of players.
OP: you saw video's? and you make all these assumptions on it without even playing/testing the game? Talk about unexperienced, seriously I could understand a topic like this if it was based on actually played facts, but instead like many game basher we see jealousy and unexperienced people come to forums to speak about things they don't know anything about..........yet....except from some video's or interviews.
And again I will not comment on the game that much until I have seen it on my system/screen. Just wondering why so many people already have to make topics like this which obviously don't make much sense at this time of the game.
There is no drooling. Most 'fans' are cautiously optimistic. Aventurine are touting a game we all want to play, with the feature set we all want to see but they are a small company and we have only a little information about the game so we all know there is no guarantee.
The problem is not that there is no guarantee, the problem is that there is no game. Videos are great. I like to rent them at Blockbuster. But Videos are not games. You can only watch a video, not play it like a game.
I hope DF is released and attracts its target audience of "hard core pvp'ers" and is successful with its niche market. Hopefully, those type of players will all be concentrated in DF so they'll leave the "carebear" players to enjoy their games without having to deal with the griefing, ganking pvp douche bags.
All kidding aside, more quality mmo's, no matter what type they are, is a good thing for all of us.
