Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Just for fun....

....I decided to reactivate my account this Labor Day weekend. I had two accounts active as recently as winter 2008.  To give a little background, I activated my first account in late July 2003 and played somewhat regularly as a casual player through winter 2008.  I canceled one (it was a monthly account) and intended to hang on to the second (paid once every three months); however, they screwed up the billing and the wrong account was canceled. I attempted to straighten it out but I never got an answer from SOE,  Feeling somewhat annoyed, I canceled the other account.

Fast forward to Labor Day weekend 2008.  I go to update my payment information. It says it has it already, so great. I click the payment button and....no dice.  I check everything and try it again and....again no dice.

Now, whats funny is I get a call from my credit card company (who has customer service that do work on weekend, even on holiday weekends)  that wants to know if its me trying to use the card on line and if I need help.  Basically, SOE has the right number for the card I want to use and security code, but not the correct/current expiration date of that card. The beauty of it all (dripping sarcasm) is their poorly designed payment system wont let me update the new expiration date because it 'has the payment information already" (ie card number). After three attempts, I gave up. I spend more than a few moments attempting to navigate the (no)help features on their site. I wont bore you with the details except to say you cant communicate with them unless you have an active account...even for billing issues!!!  Yes you can try to call them via phone during the week...good luck with that!

So in summary, I want to pay SOE to play their game and....sadly, it wont take my money.  I plan on doing a  thesis one day on the SOE online gaming business model. It will be called: "How NOT to do business".

This is just one example of why people are so frustrated with SOE.

The company  that you speak of has a lot of problems, the first one is doing business in a normal manner.

I guess my main question to anyone is why would you guys/gals actually pay SOE money for their lackluster services.  As if their games are not bad enough, their customer service is worse.

Aussie or not, I guarantee it isn't Winter in Jacksonville, FL.

edit: and apparently, SWG now appeals to the over 90 crowd.

Those things pi** me off to no end.  It's so blatantly wrong... I mean, if my phone line is down for some reason, how the hell can I call their stupid service phone number?

If I'm having trouble connecting to the net, how the hell do I even get to a help web page?

What makes this great is that these are supposed to have been thought up and implemented by professionals.  And somebody with a good education checked it over, thought it was good, and gave the final seal of approval.

    Morons...

We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." You can thank the moron's who won't hire someone with experience but a lack of education history.  They want to hire that person who has 3 degree's but only life and job experience is playing WoW.
