Wait some time and WoTLK will be out, that's the game for you, very good graphics, a mature community and an advanced and funny pvp system. If you don't like the game, simply do not play it.

Well the special effect are in the videos for all to see. I agree they feel out of place, not in the way the op mantions, but because of an excess of them, and an excess of bright colors.
But they told me that Warhammer was all about colors. So ok.
And some others say Warhammer is very sinister. That's ok too.
What is this FUN you speak of? What part of Warhammer Online is not available in WoW? All you do is project your expectations and state them as fact.
Will WAR be better in the endgame than WoW? Maybe so, I have no idea. But you can't have any realistic idea either because as of now that part of the game is not accesible to you.
But what I have become convinced of is that the part of the game that I was allowed to participate in was worse than WoW. In every aspect, PvP, PvE, crafting, gear, animations etc. Playing the Nortwatch scenario or whatever it was called was simply a clone of Eye of the Storm, nothing different whatsoever.
RvR was simply a matter of getting a larger team and hoplessly crushing the other team. Due to this fact most of the time RvR was nonexistant in the beta that I played. And by the time one gets to tier 4 they might be completely burned out of playing the exact same game for months.
So all I say here is that the signs are not good. THere is little reason that the game will just pick up in quality later on, my past experience with MMORPGs says that the polish gets lost towards the end.

Only thing i agree with there is boring combat. A lot of the other stuff is true (minus wow clone) but they have good reason for doing so and it ends up making the game better as a whole. besides the extremely well designed game, the envirioment is right on. War really is everywhere. Very interactive.
That said i do not see myself playing this game for a long time. For me it will probably be AOC, RYZOM, and WWII online till Darkfall comes out. And if that turns out a flop, or just continues being vapor I will jump on the next band wagon of the game that catches my fancy. I do not hate warhammer, it just really is not my cup of tea.

Arathi Basin.
Also, WAR scenarios aren't supposed to be in-depth. How many different scenarios can you fit within 15 minutes? Capture the flag, control points, what else? Not much. They're supposed to be quick fits of PvP to get you excited, but they don't mean much. Tier 2 is when the real meat begins. Doubt you got there, so, of course, you'll only talk about the scenarios.

Watch AION. I'm a big lineage 2 fan and Aion looks promising for next year.
I'm looking forward to warhammer. I'm going to be in the headstart and open beta weekend, come Sunday. I've seen videos but know there are ALOT of classes to choose from and don't know which to pick yet. This game has alot of differences then wow, I think. From what I've read, it's not based on the actual instance grinding with others to get equipment but more so based on pvp.
PVP is where it's at and that's why I play games. If WAR is based solely around pvp, it's the game for me. I can't wait and will def. be giving a review right after open beta. Hopefully, I enjoy warhammer because if I don't, I don't know what I would go to until Aion comes out. Plus I already preordered warhammer. See I love pvp and that's where I involve myself in games. Neocron, Lineage 2, etc... pvp battles and sieges for the win. PVP in Wow USE TO BE FUN back in open beta when they had open world pvp, ratchet pvp for instance. Now, it's the suxorz and it's pretty much based on who can do the best in instances to get the best gear to pvp in to get the best battle gear from there. I hate wow now and haven't played for a while. Quit 12 months after beta because I thought the game wasn't going knowhere for me, and mind you I had T2 at the time, ha ha. I just didn't have time to get the upper tier sets....they take way too long to get and you have to be with groups.
Atleast with Warhammer I can start something fresh and enjoy something new. Realm Vs Realm sounds like hell of alot of fun. I just need to pick a class before Sunday. Guess I'll be reading up on them this weekend. All in all, I hope warhammer is the game for me. To the Op, realize this isn't World Of Warcrap and move on. Go play it again. This game sounds to be solely revolved around pvp whereas wow is based around instances, atleast in my opinion. Battlegrounds on wow, suck.
Darkfall Online --------> Not that you don't matter, but your post is basically all the haters have going for them. Not very strong, compared to all the positives.

The OP doesn't like WAR but he wastes everyone's time by coming here and telling us all about it when it's the same regurgitated negative points. Valid? Yes. BEATEN TO DEATH? Yes.
Seriously.. all mmos have the same base quest system. Saying WAR is a clone of WoW is like saying it's a clone of AC , Anarchy , friggin every game that had a quest. At least Mythic expanded on the quests by adding PQs which are awesome
Actually, regardless of what the op thinks of the chat text which many just be a computer or settings issue, I think he misses the point of the general color of Warhammer.
From what I've always gathered, it's a bit tongue in cheek. It's supposed to have a layer of the whimsical.
In some ways it's like going to a circus and complaining that the clowns were gaudy.
As far as the chat text issue or any other technical issues, isn't this a beta? Aren't you supposed to be reporting this stuff?
Players need to stop thinking fo betas as free to play games and start actually reporting issues. Granted they are used as marketing tools but they also have a purpose.

A bit off topic, but have to admit that I dont know who I laugh the most at, trolls that jump into every thread or the ones jumping into threads and calling other trolls. Its very sad to see but quite funny when you think about it, if a person runs around in about every thread calling ppl trolls, dont that make them trolls?
Haha, wonder if they thought about that themselves.

It is not like AB at all.
The most important game mechanic that sets battlegrounds apart is the method of capturing the node. In AB you can capture a node single handedly regardless of the oposition. In EoS it is matter of having more units. You cap faster with more units and you most likely need to kill the oposition to cap.
Now onto your second point:
What is this "real meat" that you speak of? I would level up to see it if indeed it is worth the effort. Tier 1 is very boring, it does not really make sense to have it if indeed the "real meat" is in Tier 2. Why not start with the "real meat" in the first place?

The combat in this game feels very uninspiring . And those cheesy special effects, oh my. Feels like a low budget indie game. Really. Once I got caugh in a some sort of wall of bitmapped rectangles ... some type of all-powerful spell effect. Boy it was cheesy. The choice of graphical effects makes no sense, I noticed one dude tossing a purple bottle over into another one. Turns out it was some kind of a heal-over-time thing. Made no sense. Give me some type of nice healing effect, blue or green alpha blended rays, bolts or cloud shooting out ,not a purple bottle. The text is not sharp, it is not readable and the game puts out an annoying amount of blabbler that squashes any communication that teammates might have. In fact no one talks, they just run around mindlessly. at least in WoW people try to get to a node and communicate (or blame one another ). I really doubt that this game will sell as many copies as AoC, at least that game had a hook: the nice graphics (and boobies of course). This one has nothing memorable to it. You just run around in a WoW clone, possibly in the same scenario and mash the same two buttons for hours end. The graphics are worse, the animations are worse, the combat feels shallower. I got to level 8, this corresponds to approximately level 14 in WoW and I felt that I had fewer meaningful abilities than in WoW. It has boring quests. In all fairness WoW type questing will feel boring to those who went through WoW a few times, it is boring even in WoW already. The one positive that I saw was the guild tools. I liked how many types of options and advancements were for guilds. Now I could suspend my disbelief and pay for the game and hope that at level 40 every problem will be fixed, but I really doubt that. In all MMOS the beginner areas are best developed and quality goes down as leveling goes up. Most dissapointed.
Ahh thx for this man its good to hear the negatives of the game atm. To bad peeps on the site ONLY want to hear the positives. Of all those probs that u mentioned tho they can all pretty much be enhanced so ill still be playing

totally agree. I personally am not getting into WAR because its brand new like the devs at AOC were throwing at us, no ima old school hardcore PVP gamer and am looking for a hardcore PVP game and hopefully WAR can satify me

But I don't think it is a hardcore pvp game. At least not as compared to what I hear hardcore pvp players want.
As far as whether or not people want to hear only negatives or positives (from the previous poster) I'm not sure that is true at all.
I get the feeling that the negative posts on these boards stem more from frustration and high (and sometimes impossible) expectations. So the negative feed back tends to be like one big explosion of vitriol without any real thought.
Especially when people complain about things that never were supposed to "be" in the first place.
Bad spell effects and bad graphics seem more to be a complaint about personal aesthetics than odd texture issues or clipping. See what I mean? Have textures muddied or vanishing would be bad graphics. Disliking the style of graphics or how the devs have choses to represent spell effects is just a matter of taste. But for some reason many players can't articulate what they are actually trying to get across and it all goes under "bad".
Boring combat? That is also opinion but could be very important and because of that they need to go into more detail. Maybe the combat really is lackluster with the characters swinging one arm in only one way. Or maybe the player is used to more console fighitng games where it is fast and furious. That would be of huge help for players to really make up their minds. If the OP said boring combat but then said it was like "x" and many people loved "x" then we would know more about what to expect.
WoW clone? I don't even see that. Warhammer came before WoW and the style is what it is. If the interface is simiiar then that is nothing to fret about.
How many of you go to buy a car and start bitching because it is the same old controls.. break in the same place, wheel in the same place (and the fact that a wheel is being used at all! how boring!).
If something works and works well then I don't see why that should be an issue. Creating an entirely new interfact for the sake of being different is equally as bad, especially if it is a bad interface.
Text? Well that could be an issue on the op's part and he could actually submit it as a bug. Maybe even write the cm to see if others are having this problem.
So perhaps a more constructive or at least thorough post would have done better and gotten a better response.

Seriously.. all mmos have the same base quest system.
