1) I downloaded the preload beta file on the 5th - it was 9.34GB
2) After the download completed, the the download manager decrypted the file. The end result was a folder called "WarhammerOnline_Beta_encr". This folder contained 3 primary subfolders and a number of files.
3) I re-named the folder "WAR" and moved it to the directory of my choice (D:Games, for example).
4) I ran setup.exe, which "installed" WAR on my PC (it mostly just creates the registry keys , since the entire game was "pre-loaded", unlike other games where you download a setup.exe that creates the directory structure and unpacks the files).
5) Started patching this morning - up to 20% right now.
OKAY!!! You guys this is a freak of nature thing...I was messing with the files since i was having the same error
I RAN WARPATCH.EXE!
Now its patching fine....seemed as though nothing happened when i re extracted/ran it, but it did. Please try this before you waste ur time redownloading

What did you do? Just running warpatch.exe does nothing for me. You re-extracted from the original zip file that you downloaded and it worked for you?

I tired warpatch.exe and it didn't work for me either. Oh well, 4 more hours from fileplanet and I should be there, time to take a nap......

Yes I re-extracted it, then it brought up something about changing/adding files to the folder so i clicked yes. Now it works perfectly.

Hmm, I tried re-extracting. Didn't get anything about changing/adding files, and I get the same error.
curious how many of you are not from NA but downloaded the game from a NA site?
If thats the case, then thats your problem. The patcher is set up differently on NA and EU. GOA handles the EU beta, not Mythic.
To fix this, you'll need someone with a working version of the EU version to post their patch.cfg and change a few lines.
This is a sample of the NA patch.cfg. I'll bold the lines that I know will not work with an EU version. There may be more, im just showing you where the issue may lie.
I found a solution that worked for me without re-downloading.
I was using... I'm not sure what to unzip the 9.33 GB .zip file. It was either some standard Windows thing or 7-zip. In either case, the resulting directory would be like 25.1 GB in size.
Then I downloaded WinZip and ran that (note that I had to run it in administrator mode for it to work. Perhaps because I'm on Vista?). This resulted in a directory with 9.34 GB in size. I ran the setup, then the patcher, and got the Licensing Agreement. It is patching now.
If anyone is having the problem in this post, give this a try and report whether it helps!

Wish I wouldn've known this an hour ago. Damnit, deleted warhammer. Then when it went to recycle bin, went to delete files in it and actually accidentally deleted my recycle bin...just great...what a day I'm having. Now to find my recycle ben, get the warhammer files out, and try what u said. Because, my file was 25 gigs.

Did you get this client when OB keys went out , or was it a few days before? Check if it's a different file you're Dl'ing now.
I finished downloading the zip file on September 4th, if that's what you mean.
Sounds like it was an anomaly then.

Anyone else redowloading the game watching the dl just stop and go ? (I did the dowloading over night last time and didn't noticed)
It just seem it's downloading 1 file at a time with a 10 seconds break between them...

If you ARE from NA and downloaded the file from a NA mythic partner, try deleting "world.mvp" and "art.mvp" and repatching.
