If I remember correctly, when your marketing message is down to the "this product makes you cool" message, you are in a real world of hurt.
In the gaming industry, i believe this translates to advertising with stacked chicks that have nothing to do with the game. Most of the banners for games on here feature some hypersexualized chick, and no information on why i should click on that banner.
NOTE TO ADVERTISERS: If you add features the above mentioned tatics, be aware that it immediately drains the game you are advertising of all credibility.

I feel bad, and get somewhat sad when I think of how things must be going there. So much work, talent, and money into this game. This is such a harsh industry, they messed up and the public is thriving off of thrashing it even bloodier. I honestly feel really bad. I just imagine the executives walking into a meeting with a picture of the FailCom logo on the projector, to talk about "how the f*ck did we let this happen?". Then the executives walk out of the room in a stiff fury and all the poor designers sit at their desks, afraid to be noticed. Themselves they likely feel angry towards those who pushed the game out the door before they could fully complete and polish their work. It's how these things go in design. Rarely do you get the satisfaction of doing something properly and to the best of your abilities. You just have to make it as good as possible within less than half the time to do it right.
And now look at their marketing plan: DEATH NEVER LOOKED SO HOT?!?! With their sexy tattooed woman giving me a devious look? If I want to look at a sexy female while im spending time in front of my computer, FYIthere are better options available, dipshits. She doesn't turn me on, she isn't even real. What turns me on is a good game. This is so embarassing, and led me to actually make a topic for once.. something I normally can't even be bothered to do.
How do you think the air is hanging over at Funcom? Do you feel bad at all, or are you just gonna be a snotty arrogant moron and say its all of their faults and you want your money back..?

They are taking cofee , lots of it and trying new catch lines to promote Age Of Conan.
All are wondering , " How can we fix this or can we even fix this ? "
There are two segments of management decisions going on............
One says junk the game and make something new, the other says no use the Engine in Anarchy Online.
But apart from all this the only thing they are talking about is their behavior towards their gaming community.
Their harsh stupid rules of banning paid gamers as game system molestors.
I really won't like to go and have a look there as i hate going to failed companies and failed parts of the world............
I wonder , " Why they never listened to their community ? "
Is it so hard to listen to your community ?...............
I ask myself , Why does Funcom now renamed as Failcom even try to fix Age Of Conan ?.....
It is really HOT out there ........." The Death Of A Game ..... Looks And Creates An Aura Of Steam ".
Every time i wrote in the " Age Of Conan " topic i have got banned , I wonder , what will happen this time ?

Open up the Internet, join in all the Mmorpgs you can. Go make the Guild. But never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible. "
I really love to see so many cry-babies at the same time AoC will probably live on a few years, serve its purpose and give fun to those players who are able to enjoy the game. Such a shame that everyones "death wish" probably won't come true but we who enjoy the game, continue to enjoy it while the rest are bound to find their home, or jump between games and keep crying for attention

Those who flameing Funcom arnt bored or something (well maybe some are), they are simply pissed players who payed for a half-made product. And since those gameing-companys got more power than players got rights, its just fair that players use the Internet as a pillory for companys like Funcom thes days.
Funcom arnt staying alone at such postion, Ubisoft got also hell of problems with ther community (few games sucks and the scandal about the no-cd crack from RELOADED).
How does the games in futher will look like when ther arnt players like us who open ther mouth and simply say the truth? Funcom & co needs to learn(and even know) that they shouldt cheat the players.
