If this is true, the open beta aint that far away :-)

Would not suprise me one bit, the game is actually extremely stable and filled with plenty of content as they finish developing high end material, not to mention the EU and Korean versions will still be running anyway to catch anything the US hasnt caught this far. Really all they need to add in are 2 more class talents and one tier of a classes talents, finish the new graphic/animation changes there doing and fix minor minor bugs that are by far not game breaking. A class gamed like this will never be perfectly balanced in a one on one pvp enviroment and all the complaining you see about balance issues are mostly due to people wanting this concept to work out perfect, just isnt going to happen, you need a skill based system like the old UO for this to work, and I think Blizzard knows this and will most likely release in Nov in the US and have high lvl skills tweaked enough in a month or two after release it will have little affect as people are just getting there in the first place.
Its hard to say, you will always have beta testers say this game is no way ready etc, could be personal gain they are trying to achieve are just pure ignorance on creating MMO's altogether. From the time I've spent testing WoW, the game is ready now and will be a success, may not be what every gamer out there is looking for, but they will have a huge player base and do well. As to that I would look for WoW to be shipping out mid Nov. in the US, so many things point in that direction and the game really is ready regardless of some opinions, time for Blizz to capatilize on their great creation.
Thanks for the link Calon.
They are going to want to definetly cash in on the holiday season so I do believe mid-november is going to be the release date. The funny thing is all those accounts on ebay that are selling beta accounts for 300 bucks. The stupid person is the guy buying it because he is going to end up playing for 1 month or 1.5 months for 300 bucks and the retail will be 59.99 with the first month free and 15 a month. Stupid sucker wanting to get into beta!
Well, I know that Gamestop says that its ETA is Nov. 15th...
They even throw in a free book with both editions.

I am thinking about Pre-Odering. I want to play the game and I am afraid it might be sold out if I wait too long. I'd also like to read that book. Never really read any of the Blizzard Novels but I have heard good things.
Cool ! Thanks for the info

All these release date rumors are somewhat disconcerting, but most of all, they are pointless.
More importantly, the open beta is GUARANTEED to be going on sometime in November. However, it could be ending in early november, or it might not start 'til late november - somewhere between these two.
Without a doubt, Blizzard and SOE are competing to release early in order to get a huge chunk of the customer market. I know a lot of people are going into this with the mindset that. whichever game comes out first, that's the one they're going to play. And we all know how easily mmorpgs are to get addicted to, so it's safe to assume that whichever game you start playing first, you will not switch over to another one. Of course this isn't the case with everyone, but most people who get hooked on a game, will not stop.
Blizzard of course has the upper hand since all they have to do is have the open beta before EQ2's release, meaning they can wait to release after EQ2. Especially since SOE will probably jump the gun and release it early, for the reasons above.
Nice rumor, would be great if it does release in November. I stress tested and beta felt more done than most of the other MMO's Ive played in retail. However....... Blizzard, God bless em, waits till the game is flawless before releasing. So we'll just have to wait and see.............
"You and your kind have ruined your own lands ! you'll not ruin mine ! "
"You and your kind have ruined your own lands ! you'll not ruin mine ! "
Problem is there is no such thing as a "Flawless" MMO... I just hope blizzard realises this and doesnt push the release of the game further... MMOs are constantly changing and never really are "Complete"
I really hope they do release in november I mean they got a month or two to put in 2 more talents... balance the classes for PvE (PvP will never be balanced there will always be unbalanced conflict)... polish up the middle/high end content...fix minor bugs/crashes....finish the animations/models for the new system they made and walla! WoW is ready for retail!
Blizzard pretty much must release in November so as to beat SOE to the mass of online gamers hungry for a new game. If SOE releases first, Blizzard is going to have a hard time carving into the EQ playerbase.
Here's how it'll actually turn out: Blizzard have a product they can be effortlessly confident in, and when people realise that EQ2 is the next in a long line of extremely laggy, buggy SOE games, they'll be grateful for the fact that Blizzard actually gives a damn about the games they release.
The majority of the "EQ playerbase" will willingly convert to the best MMORPG on the market.
If you think about it if they release mid november they are probably going to have a good month to get the high end content right even if it is not all in yet as the players are not going to start off the game with their beta toons they will be starting from level 1. Low and mid level content is a must and high level content can be worked in as the game goes live. Not like all the other games have not done this. But Blizzard probably will just run the programmers day and night to get the content in and have everything perfect like they like all their software to be. Even Starcraft: Ghost (Vaporware)
According to my local Gamestop, they were given an official EQ2 release date of Nov 16. Of course, they could just be hyping it's release, though the manager told me in the past, that at a manager's gaming conference this summer, SOE said that EQ2 would be out in time for the holiday season. I am really not sure if the state of the game is ready for release because I not in beta and though I was originally planning on getting EQ2, i decided against it until it is out for awhile mostly due to the fact that my finances will not support the CPU upgrades necessary for everyone in my family to play it.
I did play WOW in the stress test. I liked the games graphics and was quite impressed by much of the game, though at the same time, much of it seemed to me not much different than other games out there. I felt like they took things from other games and cut and pasted it into this game. My opinion is based on minimal testing time as i was struck by a hurricane in the middle of the stress test and lost my power and cable internet . It was bad enough to lose your power for a week and be smoltering in the Florida heat , but at the same time, knowing this was the week I signed up to try this game made it seem so much worse. Never the less, I am hoping to play open beta and will likely get this game as my family and friends can play this game easily without modifying our CPU's. My friend actually played the stress test without any problems on a Dell Inspirion laptop with PIII 800, 512 mb RAM and Nvidia GeForce2 To Go with 32 MB of video memory. She had graphics turned down but never complained about lag except in the big cities, though was able to explore the city without too much trouble.
^We are talking about WoW. Not EQ2, or it's release date.^
Anyway, I hope it releases November. The earlier the better for me. As long as it is done enough to play I will be happy.
I do understand the topic is about WOW. The reason I posted about EQ2 alleged release date is in reference to the several posts regarding getting WOW out prior to or before EQ2. I was just disseminating info I was given to be informative. Sorry if I was slightly off topic. I read the Vivendi's earnings report prior to it's posting on this website. It actually does not say that the game will be released on those schedules. It says estimated release dates.
this game is gonna own all the orther mmo games watch and see i played eqII beta its ok for hardcoregamers but this is the 1 man
Dont Trash it! Trade it!

ZOMG
NO Way!
Its goin to be doubtful that Blizzard releases WoW nov. They might ship it at the end of the month and it might be released in Dec. I dont know much but i think this is probably how its going to happen. As far as christmas goes.... if they release it after christmas they are going to loose a lot of money, so it has to be released before then ....
