Not gonna switch to the US servers for 2 main reasons.

-Time Zone, even if you move with your own guild, you will all be playing when everyone else is sleeping, I have experienced this before on L2 on a US server, playing during the day and the server just feels empty the massive battles arent going on because most of the US players are sleeping, sieges and other events happening at weird times ( 4-5 am), and ofc if you are moving alone or decide to join a US guild chances are they are gonna plan things for their time not yours.

    - Latency, even tho my connection is fairly decent, it might still be a problem at some point, and I just simply dont wanna risk reaching end game where everyone is and the game becoming unplayable.

That being said, ill take my chances with GOA they will fix this eventually, and hopefully *fingers crossed* it will working at launch.

I agree about the timezones. But personally im used to that, and there's always people. Simple as that..

Ive always had decent latency towards the states. And yeah.. I started out with the us servers. Something told me that i should be doing that. apparently i was right :p

The openeing post has a valid point though

GOA has messed up which was predicted btw

How confident are we that they can handle the billing/ customer support /in game issues/server issues

As to what I have heard GOA from experience has sucked badly in all these areas

I m downlioading the beta client for US for 2 reasons the community and 2nd to see the lag issues

If there is not a problem I will log on to US

The above poster is right, we EU refugees should pick a server for headstart.....

Don't buy the US version, just use America for their flawless open beta.

I'm sure Mythic are breathing heavily down GOA's neck and all the problems will be sorted by launch next week. There would be utter hell to pay otherwise...

Even in the unfortunate circumstance the EU release is borked, it'll no doubt be sorted sooner or later and the benefits of playing in your own time zone will far outweigh those of a happy US release.

All of you wanting to go US at release are just searching for is a quick fix. Try to think about this long term. Scenarios, world PvP, the very core of this game! - all are tied into server activity and so on… So you see an intrinsic part of the game is time zone dependent and I for one want to be where the action is at.

I played the US release of WoW because the EU version wasn’t ready yet, and it sucked ass not being able to get amongst the action without staying up till god knows when.

    Patience is the key!

I kind of enjoy playing on the US version, very quite during my online hours and I like it. Dont be afraid for high ping and such, its not bad.

    There can be only one

I do the same. Make use of the US open beta and headstart and  mythic must fix the EU side. I also got the collectors edition.. I dont want to think about trying to get the collectors edition of US right now.

Anyone with experience of GOA will disregard your post.

GOA are amateurs, and that will NEVER change.

Yep they've lost me too I'm going to give the US version a try and if that fails then won't be playing at all.

I totally agree, I think its almost pointless doing this. When you struggle to get groups i shall point and laugh from back in europe. Why dont you just wait, Turn your PC off go downstairs watcha film come back , if no news rinse and repeat,.

You obviously haven't dealt with GOA before - this is just the beginning of the pain to come with them managing the game.

I think it will be us EU people on the US servers, laughing when it takes 3-4 weeks longer for you to get patches, and loads of downtime.

There will be enough EU people on the US servers to make it work, especially if most of us aim to go to the same servers at headstart.

No-one knows for sure what the outcome is going to be. I really don’t think Mythic will let this incompetence continue for much longer. There comes a point when a line is drawn and GOA are fast approaching it – I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve passed it already and Mythic are planning to give them the boot. Well we can only hope.

TBH, Going US isn't such a bad idea..

I played DAoC for many years (since release) and after EU playerbase died, US was still very active and enjoyable.

I would go US in an instant if not for the fact all my RL m8s are playing here in EU.

For anyone interested, you can purchase the US version of the game from Direct 2 Drive.

You won't get a preorder key or a box, but you won't have to wait for it either.  Plus it's cheaper!

As we are apparently "borderline sociopathic" Mad Dog Pass would be a good server.

US version should hopefully have finished downloading by the time I get home from work.

That's why we should have a thread for all EU players/guild migrating to US servers, then we sort out the number of Destro and Order guilds and choose a server may be rename it "Migrator" Thus all EU will be playing at the same time and with almost the same ping.

    Problem solved
