Why haven't GOA used Mythic's systems?!

I am at a complete loss.
I have just made an account with Mythic for the US version of the game. I have a beta key from Warcry, and am in a queue to download the client from Fileplanet. It is a looooooong queue, but that is beside the point.
All this work took me about 15mins to complete. Everything is validated and will be good to go when it's my turn.
Why didn't GOA use the same account management system that Mythic has?
Why do Mythic come across as a PROFESSIONAL outfit and GOA come across as a two-bit POS AMATEUR one?

they didn't prepare in any recognisable way, they just left it to chance until the day of OB. It must have been a conscious decision to try and get by with the absolute minimum. Then when the servers fell over they knew they could wave the OB flag of surrender without having to face consequences. A small company with limited resources has no other option.
I expect in NA exactly the opposite was happening. Mythic knew what they had to pull off to make a smooth launch inevitable. I expect very little if nothing at all was left to chance on the day of open beta. That means no expense spared.
It defies belief I know. Mythic’s site was so incredibly fast and flawless it took my WAR stress-o-meter from 10 to -10 in a heartbeat!

That is another example of false economy on Mythic's part. How many customers will they now lose because of GOA's ineptitude?
Mythic should have held GOA's hand through this entire procedure, bearing in mind they knew how they f*cked up DAoC in Europe previously.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that dude. I was seriously considering paying for membership last night but my torrent averaged off at 300kB/s and it downloaded over night - just lucky I guess.

15 min ? for account creation.. took me something as 2 mins.. as for download. while i can say goa downloader ( tracker mostly ) was much better than fileplanet offered download. or unofiicial torrents..
but yeh.. when i get home today ill be playing usa beta not eu beta.. heh

I am asking the same to myself. WHY did they have to design their site in flash? To make it visually appealing? Heck, I avoid it just because of it.
The Mythic Account center was so smooth that seeing the number of death (414) made me cry a bit inside.
Also, someone commenting about Deja Vu, that's the same feeling I have.
I had expected it not to work on sunday. But on Tuesday? All my friends are still waiting for their confirmation mail.
WHY have confirmation mails anyways? The first registration wave I would understand that it would have overload the patcher. But now It's getting even worse with people spamming their codes in there to get one bloody mail.
Also I find the number of GOA bashing alarming. GOA has failed and they lost alot of customers due to this.
I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of ass. Because I kicked so much of it earlier.

Are you using the download manager? Also try stopping it, waiting a little while then trying again. Sometimes new connections can speed things up.

According to the latest news from GOA's 'site', over 70k players are now playing on the servers?! This is BS, surely?
As I just said to Sweeet, GOA suggest that 70k players on on their servers - I call BS on that one

While is sucks for Europeans that the GoA servers are crappy, if WAR is a big hit in the US Europeans will want to play it too.
So I think all the "WAR is gonna fail because of GOA" stuff is hyperbole, nothing more. The vast majority of subscriptions will come from people that never tried the beta, never posted on a forum, and bought the box on a store shelf.

Well if you take into account all the closed beta testers this figure probably isn't too unrealistic. But given that over 500,000 EU beta keys were issued 70k is still abysmal!

This looks really bad.. Right now its something I recognice in many mmos! Big hit in US but eu is like it doesnt exist.. that way you will not be #1 or #2 or whatever you were aiming for.
You are probably correct, but just for the record, I don't think for a second that the game will fail
