I know, that there is no information what so ever about hero classes and how the system would work but I am just typing my opinion here scince I cant post it on the beta forms. I just hope the hero class wouldnt trun you into a Blademaster or a Demon Hunter. I wouldnt like it because then you would see a whole buch of Blademasters and Demon Hunters running around. The lvling pace doesnt seem to help this either because right now i bet you could get to 60 if you powergamed for two and a half weeks. If you dont beleve me look at the stresstest people where at 40+ when it was done. Me and my friend were talking about this and even if they do adjust it a bit it would probably take you a month of causal on the weekdays and power on the weekends. Anyways i would think it would be cool if you got some ablilties or sumthing but there better be more beacause then i wouldnt even bother getting hero if i just get 3 abilities. Just my 2 cents.

Yea really there isn't enough information on it yet, my guess is they will wait for release and really not say much how it all works and let people figure it out. Would be a smart move for them actually because beta testers are gonna fly through most of the begininng content as of now and it would let them look forward to something after that.
As to speed of lvling, I am glad a company finally decided to take this route to be honest. I may actually buy and play WoW because of this. The biggest problem they will have is keeping new and fresh content flowing in as time goes by.. will be intresting if they can do this by free add ons each month, GM events and paid expansions. I will be disappointed however if they throw out exps you must buy every month or every 3 months even, would be nice to get new content based off montly fees, but there will be some point when they will have to do the paid exps to cover some overhead costs. Anyway I got a bit off track from Hero classes but wanted to comment on the speed of lvling that you brought up.

Wouldnt like a lot of demonhunters and blademasters running around, eh? Well what about (say you are a warrior) all the other warriors running around.
Of course there are going to be a lot of demonhunters (from what I heard, Nightelf Warrior), blademasters (orc warrior), and mountain kings (dwarf warrior <- that one has been comfirmed). Just look at a hero class as an upgrade to your current class, a kind of specialization. Since each race/class combination will get their own hero class, there will be fewer and fewer general warriors and more and more specialized ones.

Having alot of warriors running around is really different from haveing a blademasters running around. From what I hear you acutally turn into a Blademaster and look just like him. Well if 20 warriors get Blademaster then they will all look the same. Now haveing 20 warriros start off they will look the same but when they find new items it will change how they look. Also one warrior might not want a certain abilitiy that will set him apart from other. Same for talents it will change how they play and how good they are. I'm sure when you are a Blademaster you will still have talents that will set you apart but if getting new items doesnt change the way you look then most Blademasters will look the same.

I highly doubt Blizzard will make all Blademasters look exactly the same, even with different equipment. If you do turn into a blademaster, I would think that you keep things like your skin tone, hair, etc, from your previous character.
Never take 'what you hear' as fact. If Blizzard hasn't said it, or it hasnt come from a reputable source that is in contact with Blizzard, just ignore it.
