Sound Volume?

Anyone else finding that the overall volume of the game is very low. I have to crank up my speakers.

I dont remember having this problem in the Preview Weekend at all. And yes all my volume sliders are on full.

My speakers are set to 5.1

Same problem here so you are not alone :-)

Yes! I noticed that my wav volume turns itself down once I log into the game. Is it a glitch? Possibly... but just minimize the game, open your sound table, and adjust the wav volume; presto! The sound issue is resolved.

I'm sure we all know how to adjust the damn volume...

And yes, it's really really low for me too, on the EU client if that matters...

You're an idiot, throw away your keyboard, and never post again.

I also have this problem, and beleive it or not, I have a "real" sound card (where can I get a fake one?) and I have *gasp* up to date drivers! On top of that, holy shit, people have already said they have their Window's volume up!

    Maybe you got lucky?

Yes there are tons of computer illiterates out there, however, the OP started this thread saying he already checked his volume sliders, yet, you assumed that still must be some part of the problem.

Also, onboard audio isn't really a bad thing, unless you want high definition sound. If you're running a simple 2.0 or 2.1 setup, onboard vs. high end card, probably won't sound any different. You only need a big card if you are going to push some big speakers.

thats not true..it all depends what you want from your sound card and how much you pay for it.. if you pay something as .. i dont know how much that in $ . right now.. simple card such as creative x-fi xtremegamer cost about  70-90$ i imagine? while some high end can easy cost up to 10 times that.. ye and speakers for thing like that would cost another 10x more than ur normal speakers..

while there is nothing bad with generic sound.. most of things like that.. etc drivers get updates very rarely.. not to mention some older ones.. can hardly even work vista ( if you using one ) ye.. and quality never be same again.. what i wanted from my sound card? take load off cpu.. better sound quality.. it did both..

im lucky ? no .. im smart? i hope so.. :) or i just know how to take care of mine pc.. and i actually did month of research before getting it ?

i do work in one of biggest ( if not ) IT stores line ( doh got no idea how to call this ) in Baltics ( if you in eu.. you probably know.. thats 3 small countries.. lithuania latvia and estonia )

and trust me.. there are times.. when i wonder how someone can be this dump.. stupid and just careless..

i never hd my pc broken.. never had things not working.. and i had more than one computer..

if you would say game is crashing.. i would bash you again.. cuz game doesnt crash.. aoc didnt crash.. everyone whined.. war doesnt crash.. ppl still cry about it..

that just how it is.. i know that most of us gamers know a lot more than regular person.. but thats not always truth

Alright, I actually think we are arguing the same thing here for sound. I of course, was referring to a newer model motherboard, and not something extremely dated. I use a EVga 680i LT and use onboard sound and have no issues on Vista 64.

Some of it is luck and some of it is smarts. I do not work with computers, however, they are a hobby and a passion.

I built the PC I am using right now, and I don't have any issues, however, everything is fairly new and works well with what is out there. Just because you managed not to have any crashes in a game, doesn't mean the people who do crash are dumb, stupid and careless. Maybe their video card isn't compatible, maybe they had a RAM chip go bad, maybe a harddrive sector wore out, etc. etc.

As much as I know about computers, and as careful as I am, sometimes, shit happens. I've had games crash, I've had Windows go to hell on me, I've also had my Vista/Ubuntu dual boot eat my boot loader. If these things make me dumb, stupid or careless, then the average user must have an IQ of mayonaisse.

Seriously, you are all over the board telling people that all of their problems are their fault and you refuse to acknowledge that software could be at fault, since you have no problem.

This makes me think that IT in the Balkans must be shitty if you work for one of the biggest companies, that or you work as the janitor.

"I noticed WAR lowers the Wave volume which is nearly everything your sound card puts out as sound. It lowers it to around 20% as soon as you load the game. Turning the master volume up using buttons on your keyboard, in game, or other things won't turn up the wave volume. You have to go into volume control (aka Play Control) and turn it up manually each time you load the game. So you will have to minimize War, go to the start button, all programs, accessories, and then it should be in entertainment I think. I have mine on my desktop since I use it often for other programs. Here is a pic of it after War lowers the volume."

I thought the volume was low and turned up my speakers because I'm so used to the music being somewhat loud when you first install and enter a new game.  But then suddenly all of the background and gameplay noise was very loud.  I looked in the game audio console and the music volume was halfway down.  So it's at least partially the game settings.
