Thanks, here is someone who gets the thread. I love your 13. one because its so true....sadly i think this is where the genre is headed...hopefully iam wrong.

Strange, he didn't continue what you did.

None of your own arguments in any way hinted that there actually may be something wrong with WAR(on a personal basis) and *that* is why people might not like it. Most of  yours seemed to assume people who hated it were doing so irrationally.

His on the other hand actually insinuated there may be somethign wrong with WAR.

LOL no he insinuated there is something wrong with the genre.....

True, something which actually *includes* WAR unlike all of your statements :)

And whether its fun... which i find it to be.

I try to pitch this all the time. Take a game for what it is. What is the point of coming to a game like this and saying "This game isn't a sandbox, it blows! Darkfall forever!" Read anything the devs said about the game, they WANTED it to be casual, friendly, and just plain fun. They did that, very well. Why you people worry if it will hold its value, it doesn't have this or that, the graphics aren't this or that... c'mon people, lighten up! One of my favorite games is on the Atari 2600, and its just plain fun to me and always will be.

People weren't on forums back then saying "My block is blue! WTF, make it red! And why is it a block? Make it a square!" Gamers just played games that were fun and had fun.

Number 7 is the main truth of people here, and it used to be me for a long time, but I learned awhile ago to take a game for what it is and it makes games and dare I say life more fun.

The things Im not liking in WAR:

1.- You don't choose your enemies, the game does that for you, and god, they sure suck.

2.- Way too many pvpers, you are pvper just cause you've logged in, that means you'll have to be facing unorganized enemies 90% of the time, boring, I want some serious competition, not an average Joes team.

2,5.- Everybody is ready to PvP whenever they go to the battleground, no adrenaline rush moments.

3.- Unresponsive combat, there are 200 games out there with better combat dynamics than WAR during its open beta after going gold.

4.- Group dynamics, quite chaotic, being in group is just to see your party members on the interface, you might aswell just zerg down mobs without groupping.

5.- Mobs AI, nothing new here, reminds me of really old games where all they do is hit and run after you if you go close.

6.- Quests, I haven't seen an original one yet, exploration, killing and gathering?

7.- Not a really friendly user itemization, got drops that, after reading what they stated, couldn't get shit about what was going on with that item, if I had to save it to craft or if it was to be sold.

8.- Accomplishement feeling, after being the best of the destruction side on the scenearios I played repeatedly (either me or a mate of mine) I felt that we could have gone swimming or doing nothing around, that the result would have been the same. There was no clear consequences in our victory other than leveling up.

Other than that, the game will sure catter their audience, I might be missing something and Im sure some of my arguments are proven wrong later on, but that's what I've experienced so far.

Speaking of steaming pile, you smell. On another note, people will always bash something that is good because they like to feel somewhat superior to others; all in all you'll still join and worship the group secretly. You do know the the nerd/geek group created this so called philosophy. Also, sandbox mmorpg is a dead attempt in the corporation scenario ever since SWG. It will not happen anytime soon because sandboxes are not user friendly and get as complex as EVE. Sandboxes will always be better than what the MMO genre is at but I don't forsee it being a standard for quite a while sadly. Hell, PvP is finally getting the attention it needs; so let's take it one at a time.

Ah, nice to see you lay down another post thick with the pretentious EVE comments; we must bow to one such as yourself; one that can understand the vast intricacies that a sandbox has to offer.  If only we weren't useless proles we might one day elighten ourselves.

Not sure which side this was meant for, rabid fanboys or the senseless trolls.  Either way, it was funny.  That move did suck big time, I'm sad they let him continue to direct/ruin the rest of the movies as well as Indiana Jones.

Take games for what they are, games, there are people here that would probably run into a burning Gamestop to rescue a couple of copies; as well as people that would set the Gamestop on fire to keep people from playing something else.  It is amusing.

To funny, but sadly so true

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

I played UO long ago and I delt with all the setting changes I had to do everytime I loaded up the game, all the mindless PvP, all the open looting and whatnot, etc. I had a great time but there was nothing much else to play really. Then I played WoW, CoH, Guild wars, etc. and I learned things could be just as fun without all the grief. So then I tried EvE, because sandbox UO was great times, and I won't lie, I uninstalled in an hour. So slow, boring, uninteresting. I will concede it has good PvP, economy, etc. (Though I really have no idea) but it is the least fun game I think I've ever played in my life. MMOs might not be going in the best direction, but they sure are a lot more fun than games like EvE.

I dont hate WAR. The game has her auditory, like Teletubies do. Its never ment for ppl other than those bored by 24/7 WoW BG farm, or the so-called theme-park "PvP"'rs. Mythic made it so simple for them, you just have to queue from lvl 1 and you never have to do 1 quest or kill 1 mob to advance, only  "pvp", u get skills, gear, XP, anything you need from it. I actually like that part.

But for me, the game is an mix of inferior realisation + numb and shallow gameplay. I have nothing against ppl playing it and enjoying it, but to label it as top MMORPG.. srsly.

    1. Because a MMO based on the Warhammer Universe could have been so much more

This, it could've been so much more.

Iam guessing you played to level 5......the combat is very deep, from tatics, to morales, to renown training, to a abilities, to mastery training.....shallow what part is shallow?

Warhammer, while not really offering anything new, combines a lot of great elements from a lot of good MMOs. The game is solid and fun to play.

I honestly feel sorry for those of you that look at WAR and only see WoW, you're missing out. I also feel sorry for those of you that say the combat is too slow. It isn't, it's no slower than any other MMO combat. AoC only seems fast paced because you have to beat the hell out of your keyboard to enter the proper pass code to unlock your combos.

From one gamer to another, and from the bottom of my heart ... give it a real shot guys, don't dismiss it so easily.

I look forward to pvping with you!

My biggest complaint right now is that I can't map the keys the way I want. I like to make E forward and then map ctrl-E to a spell or something. Can't do that in WAR at the moment.

Does that mean I hate the game? No. But I'm not going to buy the game until they fix key binding.

AoC had the same problem. PvP'ers like to map their keys to their liking, strange that WAR a pvp game doesnt' have this feature implemented.

People will complain about certain aspects of the game important to them, get over it.

i like the game, i just hate how it takes 2 hours to get into RvR scenerios, atleast for me.

A big list of nonsense. I can make a shorter one:

    1. Everyone do not adore the same things as OP.

There is only one reason ever to really hate a game (any game): You are a moron!

Don't like it? No problem there just don't play it. I won't play War, at least not until they fixed all the citys. I'm just a bit tired of games releasing too early. But I sure don't hate it for that, I don't even hate GOA. Me and my friends decided just that we won't buy it before all content is in. If that takes to long we might buy something else, like Spellborn.

There is no need to flood the War forum with whine, it is ok to give a reveiw even if it's negative but no trolling please. And defending the game while whining on another game isn't better. If you don't like it don't play but don't go around hating the game or the people liking it, we all got different taste.
