fun factor, brotherhood, ability to not be so serious all the time. In most games me and my RL friends tend to create our own guild and select players that have the same play style and flow on the same brainwaves as us. we are never to serious nor unserious, just a good mixture. Has any of my made guilds ever made it to the "endgame"? Nope. We never really try. We have gotten close, but thats not are guilds are ever about. We're all about fun and having fun.

When or if we ever do goto someone else guild we make sure that we all can join and that they are similar to the qualities that we try to make when creating our own.

The first thing I look for in an mmorpg guild is strong leadership.  I do not wish to follow a wishy-washy leader that has difficulty making decisions or questions where his loyalties lie.  The second thing I look at is organization...first--is there any?  or is the guild just a big chat room?.  Clear lines of communication must exist between the guild leader and levels of the organization.

I also look at members...how do they represent themselves?  Can they take guild loyalty seriously and still have a good time?  This is very important.  I do not want to be a part of friend's chat club.

    - Ethic of the guild.  A guild that dont kick someone that is a jerk to strangers for personnal gain is a guild that WILL have issues with me.  My definition of ''jerk'' vary with the comparaison of the 2 players raw power, the weaker the victim is compare to the predator, the nicer I expect the strong side to be.  Yes, I expect my guild to leave a camp to a noob group if we are that strong where it hardly matter and they are that weak where it is day and night for them, no matter how right our claim is and how weak their is.  Of course, I will have issue with many powergaming guilds that reeks everything from a place(and leave the noobs with no options), no matter if I am with them or not, they better expect a train(or worser) eventually!  image  Instancing is a blessing!  image  A guild that awaken the Sleeper AFTER they earn what they want?  Total unconditionnal hatred!(Hiya LoS)

    - If the guild will help or hinder my personnal developpment(I bear some hindering, there is a limit althought).  All the guilds I ever join hindered my progress(no offense meant there, if I would have spent the time I spent with the guild soloing(not even grouping), I would have been stronger), it is acceptable.  However, many guilds I never accept to join help me progress.

    - Opportunities it will bring me and I will bring it(1 way and/or the other, a pure standstill for both sides is boring, I love to see it is helping me or that I am SO saving them...). I like to be in debt toward fellow players or that fellow players be in debt toward me, it lead to social interactions.

    - Kindness factor.

    - If I will be able to help the Noobs with that guild tag(that dont mean I will help them, I need to be able to, I may always leave a zone, a place, an area, and ignore them).

    - If the guild will restrict anything I am doing, be it talking, grouping, soloing or whatever.

    - Anything else we share in common(RL friends in the guild, ideals, goals, playstyle...).

All I said could be resumed in 1 world:  FREEDOM, both for me, the guild, the noobs, the server, everyone have as much freedom as possible, cutting 1 inch of my personnal freedoom that give 2 feets of freedom to someone else must be done, same apply to everyone else on the server, with their approval, or against it!  You see why I LOOOOOOVE instancing.  At least on the dont do way, nobody have to do something in order to help others, but everyone is responsible to refrain doing something that cut to much freedom to others...and I am always ready to enforce it at any cost!
