WAR have you really played it?

I can't understand all the bashing on this game.
I was told it would come, and it has. People are judging this game on what they are experiencing in a beta. As bad as AoC's launch was, it was even worse during the beta.
I really dont understand what people expected from this game. This is just another MMO. Just like watching foot ball. Its just another foot ball game. Did you expect something other than watching a foot ball game?
Have the flamers/trollers really played this game? Given it an objective view. Not allowd their bias' and or hype kill the game for you? Throwing away all your bias' can really change if you like or dislike something. Its like going into a Soccer or any kind of sport and having the mind set that "you are going to loose."
Well guess what, you just lost your game. Not by a little, but by a long shot. Why? You had already desided to loose. If you think a game is going to be bad. It is going to be bad. If you think a game is just a clone of another, it is going to be a clone of that game.
I guess ill never understand the epstiomoligy of some people. When they don't like something they act as if it raped their sister and killed their dog.
People hype things way too much for them selfs. I have done it, and said a few times that i did it for SSBB. I will never hype a game every again in my life. It ruines all the new feelings. It kills anything and everything about the game. By watching endless videos of it, you are esentially playing it. You are not physically pressing the button but your so intent on playing it you might as well be.
And then you devlope this warped view of something that is really not there. You think this and that will be in the game yet did anyone say it was? Did anyone tell you the combat was not going to be your conventional MMO combat with a twist with each class?
Mythic has been nothing but ownest with its customers. GOA has its problems. Hearing problems about logging into your account. (re-do your WAR password not your master account) But they are doing everything in their power and it shows with each patch. And lets back up to the citie cuts and class cuts. They did it so anyone and everyone could cancel their pre-orders.
Now with this all being said. Can you loose your bias'? Can you open your mind to playing a video game? Not just this game but any video game? Can you learn not to implant ideas of how a game or ANYTHING is going to turn out?

Before I got in beta, i was worried by the amount of whiners. Played beta, enjoyed it. I now dismiss the opinions of everyone else. I find it FUN, i dont give two ****s if the UI looks a bit like WoW or if its not broken the class/level mechanic.
The only worry i have is GOA.
I love many people dont read thought out posts but read garbage like "WAR SUXORZ TEH MOST" or "AOC PWNZORS THE WORLD, BENCHMARK MMO" Its very fasinating.
i can appreciate your post but people are going to like what they like, and not like what they dont. is it bias? in some form maybe. Understand there is always going to be bias involved when a person asserts their opinion.but people form an opinion based on their experience, or view/interpretation. it's human behavior. alot of people have played the beta including myself and based on our experiences found that the game wasnt for us. does that make us wrong? no not at all, it just wasnt our thing. does it make the game bad? no, its whatever floats ya boat. different strokes for different folks basically.
i have first hand knowledge how the game is, and Im actually glad i played/tested it, so now I can make the informed, educated decision on whether or not I'll buy it or not. in this case I will not buy it as it does not interest me. I Personally wont open my mind to paying for a game I dont like. easy as that. nothing illogical, or misguided about it.
on a side note, what i do like in all this is Mythics methodloogy in beta testing, I think it went well, and they did a good job as the game was rather polished. I think a quite a few MMO companies can take note and learn a thing or 2 from them.

Yes, I've played it.
Even though I have formed initial opinions, they are not set in stone. Just because one points out failings or shortcomings of a game doesnt mean they have decided to "lose".
I have been enjoying the game ever since i got into CB, sure there was alot of problems at first but hey what mmo doesnt have problems in BETA! As the CB went on patch after patch it polished the game even more. Take a look at preview weekend compaired to PW+/OB.
There was a small AI issue that was patched within a day to fix that, along with many other bugs so far in OB. Hell even adding more combat animations/polish for each class. The patches keep on coming every day.
Maybe they should fix problems in game with adding Dancing/DDR that will do it
I've had my moments of worry, but Mythic seem to be great at fixing things quickly.
Also not set my opinions yet, its good, I like the PQ (as I knew I would) but its not as polished as I expected, definitely not shiny.
ranged bug is anoying, tho I see mythic is on to it, hope thats fixed for the 18th.
I like hype, it can be a good thing to build up the comming of a game, I been looking at WAR for a year or more. so I kinda like to hype a game for myself, it cant make me like a poor game or hate a good game, or if it does then its still my opinion.
also it doesnt hurt me to hear people dont like what I like or even if fans love what I like

I think what annoys me the most is reading posts bashing the game from people who claim to have played the beta, but obviously haven't (given their descriptions of the game). I was dubious about the game at first, coming from WoW, but I never bashed the game. I decided to wait until I actually played it to pass judgement on it.
I'm in the OB now, and I've decided I really like this game. Like all open betas, it has its problems. But they are significantly fewer than pretty much any open beta I've played in (certainly far less than WoW or AoC had).
In truth, Blizzard will need to makes some changes to WoW to compete with WAR. BGs will need to be as accesible as RvR Scenarios (ie...you queue for them from your UI, not an NPC, and you immediately return to wherever you were in the world when the BG ends). This is must for Blizzard, and we should see it in a very early WotLK patch, if not implemented into the initial expansion itself. They also need to move more quickly on releasing WotLK. One expansion every other year is not going to keep the majority of the player base happy, no matter how "high quality" that expansion is. One need only have logged into game recently to see that for themselves. The game is a ghost town. I play on two "Full" servers, and they've both stayed "Low" to "Medium" population lately.
Irregardless, I'll be playing both WAR and WoW for awhile. Down the road, I'll likely cancel one, and it very well may be that I choose to stay with WoW. But, although it does need a few things, WAR is a solid MMO that brings a number of much needed fixes to both the PvP and the PvE aspects of MMOs.

That is not a good thing. Never a good thing. Its the fundamental reason why there is so many problems in this workd and especially in the US.
So, I can completely understand if the game is not for them. I really can. Because I didn't like DaoC. I dont know why. I could never understand it because the whole concept of it was great. But it didn't have a good "feel" to it.
So yes i can understand when someone does not like a game. But I can not understand bashing a game that the person clearly had thought the game was going to be crap, then played for 10 minutes and said it was crap.
AMEN! Just play your games people. honestly its such bs to try to come onto forums and troll. If the game isnt for you give decent examples and express why you dont like it how it can improve. almost all of the reviews i ever read against war are snide smerks like "THE GRAPHICS ARE 1998!" or "this is wow 2.0! im not starting over". They are 2 totally different mmos and just enjoy them. Ill be watching both Wotlk and WAR. Ill also keep an eye on aion and df but thoes games dont currently interest me. to each his own.
So in closing - play your games and give constructive ideas.
Eh, why should some people play WAR before making thier rants?
They already made the decision that they do not like WAR long before they played it.
If they expect not to like it, and expect everything to be broken, what in the hell is the point of trying to enjoy it? They will find something to gripe about and bring it to everyone elses attention in hopes of somehow bringing the game down in a flaming hellstorm.
You have to go into the Beta with an open mind, no hate, and no love.

I guess everyone who posts about this game should attach a screenshot of their character in the game so that they can prove that they played it?

IRT what people expected: They expect what they hear from people and read on the forums. The reason why people are bashing the game after they got ahold of the Beta is simply because the community created so much hype about it.
I'm willing to believe that most of these people HAVE played the game because the WAR Bashing has gone to new heights since the Open Beta has started. It is just too easy/cheap to get into the Open Beta, that it's unreasonable to NOT play the game and bash it...
When the gaming community stops hyping every game to be released like it is the best thing since sliced bread, people will stop upping their expectations to astronomical levels and games will be able to get and maintain high subscription numbers because the disappointment in Open Beta-Release will not hit them so hard.
In summary: It is our own faults that players bash games, because we hype games way too much as if our preferences are global and universal.
No one cares what anyone's opinion of the game is in the end. We all are welcome to form our own opinions.

BTW i enjoy the game alot i played more than 6 hours on my sig but just figured out how to track my WAR beta with xifre yesterday .
But did you go in with a predetermined mindset of how the game was going to be instead of an open mind?

there are people who havent played the game and yet bash it. okay good point. but some people can play it for 10 minutes and think, meh I am not liking this, moving on. me I played quite a bit, gave it my all to get interested, like many others it wasn't my thing. so i say leave it at that respect that decision and lets move on, yes? cool.

Took me 4 DAYS to come in the BT. 1H after, bought my CE.
Tried War 6 months ago (one of my friends was BT) and thought it was another wow clone

You can play PVP/RvR since levl 3? 5?

Altdorf is really impressive, one of the best cities i' ve discovered on a mmorpg. Maybe the most impressive with New targonor (VG)
War isn't a copy of Wow : But Wow is a clone of Warhammer.
There's 5 million chinese farmers worried they'll loose their jobs and another 5 million players worried who's gonna tank/heal/pay the repairs if WAR succeeds.
That's where you get 90% of the "reviews" on this site from.
I'm loving it and would never ever go back to the slave pen called WoW after I've seen with my own eyes that WAR delivers.
I was kinda worried how this would turn out at first. Being one of the people burned by AoC, I figured this might not be good.
Tried the beta, loved it. I know I'm going to buy it.

To add to what I said, I don't know if it will replace WoW for me completely, Seeing as I still like wow, but its new and good and I might actually already have some friends (rl friends) and a guild right when I join war.
I'll see how it goes. If WAR can be as enjoyable as it is now at the latter stages, than it will most definately keep me interested.
