EU headstart is dated to the 15th, hopefully they'll fix account registration so we can register and use our headstart keys, but according to current progress i guess we will be able to play headstart the 17th late night :s

I'm Happy! I've suspected it might be the 14th.  I was right! (now if I could just win lotto I could retire and play WAR all the day long!)        Weeee!

Like said if you can actually get in i.e. validate your HS keys (for EU I meant).

    No cheers for that...

I fail to understand why there are no more CE games being sold. I never had the chance to buy one. It would be cool if they had an upgrade feature.

It doesn't make any sense. Why not allow people to at least download the CE?

There's a reason they call them "Collector's Editions."  They made a limited number and maybe if you wanted one you should have gotten one then.  If they made more now it would cheapen the originals.

I expected the 14th, but I am surprised about the 16th... I thought standard would've been a traditional 3-day head start. Not that I mind in the least though... means I have two whole days to enjoy the game before everyone else and their mothers join in.

OK please pardon my not knowing, but what is GOA?

GOA is the company responsible for the servers/customer service/ billing in the EU. Where mythic does that them self in the US.

O no. Just hearing that Euro has a entire seperate entity for hosting the game is really scary.

I hope they do a good job. I live in the States but I have played many a MMOs with some fine Euro peeps

Well, apart from delaying the EU open beta by 2 days due to their incompetence, and just general ignorance, yes, GoA haven't completely buggered everything up, I mean hey, I finally got to log in yesterday

Well from the posts of people over in the UK and elsewhere overseas trying to get into the North American game, you're in luck, because you'll be able to play with alot more fine Euro peeps ;)

LOl you make them sound like they are going to have some sort of value in the future other than for yourself...

These are not comics or cards...When you open it, its not going to be worth SHIT to anyone but yourself...so don't make yourself think your better than the standard people..

yes the box will be continued to be worth stuff.

i am still hunting WoW original collectors edition box =9

though war box is a 3.2kg package of goodies grafic prequel, artbook, special figurine and stuff.

if you want the CE edition just for the 4 headstart then i think you are kinda out of it.

Collectors editions are nice if you are  collector. !!=)

  • streeastreea Member UncommonPosts: 654

Collectors editions are exactly like comics and cards... you either buy them because you like what they have to offer, or you buy them and store them well in the hopes of them being worth something later on. The head start is just ONE part of the set.

As the poster above me said too, you don't buy the set just for the head start. The CE comes with a TON of stuff. I didn't pre-order it for the head start... I just wanted a lot of the neat things, both in-game and out, that are being offered.

Too bad GameStop effed up my code. I ordered on April 25th, yet they ran out of codes for me.

    LAME!

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

Gamestop also screwed me. I had pre-ordered the CE version on 5/1/08. However, they ran out of codes and then cancelled my order without me asking them to. Then when I call to ask why the **** my order was cancelled they tell me that I did it, not them. Riiiiight! I bet my copy went to a friend of a GS employee, I BET I BET I BET!

So now I can't play this Sunday and have to wait till Tuesday. Not because I didn't want the CE version but because I was screwed out of it. So I went to D2D and bought mine there.

I'm pissed. Oh well, poor me. Waiting til Tuesday just blows.

I'm just curious as to how their servers are holding up...During the load test portion of the Beta...The day just prior to the CE head start it seemed like they were going down almost every 5 min. Just curious... ;)

Oh and I pre-ordered and GameStop didn't give me a head start code either because they "ran out"...whatever!!!

Well despite the farce that was EU open beta things actually ran quite smoothly for EU head start. I was away for most of the weekend and registered my codes Sunday evening. Got both confirmation emails shortly afterwards and then was in-game.

Servers are stable but there is a problem for some people with lag increasing the longer you play, which could be a memory leak. It's nowhere near as bad as the AoC memory leak though.

The main problem I have now is trying to actually get on my server. Mine isn't the worst one but I had a 20 minute wait last night, then got dc'd (I was afk so may be due to that) and was faced with another wait. Still, full servers are better than empty ones and their is talk of caps being increased.

The game is a blast with a good mix of PVP and PVE. There's actually a point to minigames which AoC sorely needed but should at least have soon. I'm playing a Witch Elf which is similar to my AoC Assassin so will be interesting to see how they compare and what the end-game is like for both in each game.
