For sometime now Ive read alot of posts concerning GU6 and the customizations and features within. Now that it is here and people are able to see it for what it is (out of test and live), what are your thoughts? Do you agree with the direction and steps thus far? As I have yet to see them for myself I have no opinion but am interested if the negative and positive opinions expressed pre-GU6 release have been supressed or bolstered.

From what I have read it seems that GU6 is only a good thing. Better avatar animations, bug fixes, and "isle of free trial" to increase player base. Definitely nothing controversial just good old fashioned game improvements.
Performance actually got worse for me, after GU6.
Before GU6, running around Tursh on my Thestran Human character, I was at 30+ frames with no hitching, and the game settings on Highest Quality/Ultra High. After GU6, running around Tursh now, I'm constantly hitching, and have not been able to break even 25 frames (been averaging ~22 frames).
Over a thousand bugs fixed, revamped character models for better performance, a few memory leaks removed, and I lose ~8 frames instead of gain 8 frames? Just my luck.
Yes. They've done a wonderful job with this game.
Some customization bugs, some questbugs, people complaining about a lot of nerfs to classes. Nonetheless overall a good update with a nice new starterinsel, better performance (at least people in my guild) reintroduced customization of characters. Lots of bug fixes.
One big problem was introduced: 3 day respawn timer on the now contested landraidmobs. Which might work in other games but not in VG. I hope this will get reverted back soon. Overall playerresponse is very negative.
Same here, struggling with 10 fps average on isle of dawn.

I also experienced reduced performance, until I decided to delete the pre-compiled shaders from the VG directory; after that the game reverted to my previous FPS (45-60 in the wilderness average, 30-35 in cities like NT).
But what I also noticed is that forced AA works perfectly (I have an Ati 4850 and set it to x6) with very little impact on FPS.
That being said, I still get random program errors (textures not loading causing critical errors and program shutdown), but the most annoying is the random PC reboots now and then. I believe it is caused by my sound card (Audigy) but although I have the latest drivers installed I still cannot eradicate that problem...
VG is still buggy. Performance is barely acceptable ( can be compared to EQ2 ). But when it comes to graphics and gameplay its probably the beste MMO out. So if WAR doesn't convince me, i'll stay with VG.
Bugs are annoying though.
This update lives up to the hype. This game keeps getting better and better.
playing: darkfall
waiting: earthrise
So far it seems pretty nice. Characters look good. Island of Dawn is really good.
I played the CIS learning to use infinium weapon quest today where you fight that guy that jumps around in time. Anyway the whole event was frequently buggy in the past but tonight everything wen't perfectly. We even messed up on the event start and it reset properly. Luck or Bug fixes? I'm hoping it's one of hte many bug fixes
All in all good update. brings nice stuff and reduces bugs.

Could you tell me how to force AA ?:)
Actually bro ive been playing Vanguard every setting maxed sence day1 and it runs 10 times better than EQ2, honestly EQ2 is the only game i couldnt run with every setting maxed ya i could play but it wasnt very smooth
off topic but anyway, is there any screens on the new charmodels or even better, movies ?
I'm using an Ati 4850 card with Catalyst 8.7, so I can only speak for this setup. Last thing I heard only nVidia users were able to force AA in the game, but apparently the new Ati cards can also force it.
Simply go to the Catalyst Control Center and in the Anti-Aliasing tab (under the 3D options - or something like this) untick the box 'let the application decide' and set the AA to the level you wish.
When i tried it first at 4 samples total I didn't notice much of a difference. I then set it to 8 samples and the game did look different but a bit too blurry for my tastes, so I settled for 6 - I find this setting gives a balance between smoothing out the edges and keeping the image crisp.
In all cases I didn't notice any significant performance hit - that's the good thing with the new Ati 48xx cards, they can really be pushed to the limits with minimum impact on FPS.
Could you tell me how to force AA ?:)
with ATI cards you goto your catalyst menu and goto 3D section and take applacation control off and set the settings yourself to what you like. I think its the same with Nvidia if im correct also just i think located in a differant section.
Thanks for advice
Very good update
I play a sorcerer and they have added some good features like Spell Focus ,either Fire or Ice ,which rocks for me
"after the time of dice came the day of mice "
so far what ive seen and played from the new GU6 soe put out its not bad at all. besides the hitching and maybe a few other things overall the update is awesome. they changed the damage and that helps out in the pvp server.
ill ask again, is there any screens or movies on the new charmodels ?
Yes, there is a shitload of them.

Then you have alot more both from the initial models released in august and the tweaked on in the link. Just press the No:2 button to go to the next page on this part of MMORPG.com faboulus forums.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
So...any links to screens or even better any videos of the new character models?
WAR let me down in its current state, definitely one to watch but as it is I feel like playing other MMOs. Im very tempted to reactivate VG and try out GU6. Worried about people talking about performance hits, as the official forums have the same complaints.
Overall, very good so far. They've got a few fixes that go in today to patch up some stuff that got borked during the push to the live servers. Yes, it seems fps is down a bit in some areas, but that's just because there is a crap-ton of players running around, especially on IoD.
