Cool. Now I can carebear my toon to max level/gear and then move him to a PvP realm. I love how they just keep making things so much easier for people.
For me, this is an integrity deal-breaker. There was a reason you could not transfer... PvE servers are so easy to level up in and make money on. What's to stop someone from power leveling a warlock on a newbie PvE server then switching to an established PvP server? Now nothing, apparently.
I wasn't sure Bliz could lower the bar on MMO's anymore than they have already. i guess I was wrong.

Yeah they prolly did do it because of WAR but maybe they have other reasons, suprisingly most pvp players weren't upset they looked at it as fresh meat hehehe. Ah well everyone knows blizz is about money they should make a killing off this.

Maybe it will spice up realms to be honest. Could be a good thing, really. I would love to play again and have world war in wow, but I won't go back Too gear dependent. I would be cool if wow started over and went into beta again, LOL. That way I can play once again, create new accounts, and stay caught up.
If I can catch a new server starting then I probably would go back...eh. Warhammer has my attention to a certain degree now.
Btw, with the lich king coming out with a new class, I'll probably be making it and trying it out. I'm sure there may be a few new servers with the expansion. Set for November, it gives me time to play War until then. I'll be ready for the expansion and ready to get back in wow in November.
Its so easy to level on PvP servers, it doesn't matter all that much.
But, even as easy as it is, it kept a certain kind of demographic off the pvp servers. Now that group can migrate over.... My PvP servers are sooooo much more fun, and community oriented then my PvE server. One server pugs 25 man raids, the other you have to jump through hoops to have a chance.
I'll still play LK, but i'm really looking forward to Chronicles of Spellborn.

I was going to complain about this, but who cares to be honest? I have leveled all 6 of my 70s on PvP realms (Dentarg eu 5 horde, boulderfist eu as alliance). Appart from the first 2 (druid and a hunter) which I leveled during the period we had no battlegrounds, and world PvP was everywhere. As well as when I took them to 70 at the launch of TBC, I have not really had the same experience at all on my other 4 characters with regards to ganking, or PvP of any sort.
My hunter was my first 60 followed by my druid, I was probably ganked thousands of times on both of them. My third character I leveled around the time AQ came out, and I was ganked around hundred times. My 4th and 5th characters which I leveled around the release of nax, were ganked less than 30 times if that.
My last character I leveled to 70 without being ganked once. I always played during peak times. I really think that nowadays, there really is no difference between a PvP server and a PvE server. World PvP is dead, most PvP is in battlegrounds on all realms, we are linked in battlegrounds to PvE realms as well and it makes little difference with the ease it is to get PvP gear.
The reasons why PvE to PvP were not allowed before was ganking, I really doubt that is a huge problem anymore when the old areas are very barren. You probably will not encounter anyone till around eastern plaguelands anymore, so the risk is just not there. I find that people do not even bother to stop anymore because they just want to level and get out of the single player like areas of the game.
Hopefully with PvE transfers they will allow more people to participate in PvP at 70-80. Who knows, perhaps if enough people transfer it will encourage Blizzard to improve the world PvP, and servers to support it lol
I have to say still that I am really surprised they just suddenly change their mind now, it really does seem like either A) they did this because of warhammer or because people whined so much about it on the forums. Someone how I doubt they just suddenly had a change of heart for anyother reasons when they have been defending the policy so much over the last year.
I play on a two pvp servers, i can tell you neither of the guilds i roll with are afraid of any T6 raiders from a PvE server.
Biggest issue we see is the barrier PvP provides for the community. People who aren't patient enough for a pvp environment were weeded out. The community that was left at high level has been, for the most part, a very mature fun loving bunch.
PvP was more of a fence that filtered a community. That Filter is now undermined by these transfers.

I wish they would change their mind on world pvp and removing bg's from pvp servers but that would improve the game so why do that.
Thank You Blizz ! !
IS THIS TRUE? :OO I "accidently" moved my rogue to a PVE server and he's currently useless
yep yep very true, paid pve to pvp transfers, they got a sticky on it on their gen forums =D

Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time given Blizzards recent dumb down policy.

That hurts... My server could be flooded with crazies.
Bad decision.

Ohhhh the smell of desperation is strong with this one. Blizz pulling out ALL the stops.
Give this game a month and I bet it'll be an item mall game.

I bet these transfers were opened up because of the soon to be released Warhammer (pvp oriented game).
Personally I could care less. Play on a PVE server. If I played on a PVP server I might be pissed.
Amazing stuff....a real fumble IMO. But hey, I don't play so doesn't matter.

That's pretty amazing - does anyone have the actual link?
