Is there a open RVR area like the frontiers in DAoC?

From what I see its more of a Guild Wars Instance RvR area.  I'm not in the beta but kinda interested in this game.

And now that I think about it, if there is a open world RvR zone, whats the min LvL.  Any exp bounse for leveling in RvR zones? Ect.

    christ.

yes. you get knocked up to a reasonable level when you enter the open rvr areas, you get xp from it, and loot.

  • They have instanced battles...like how WoW does theres where u que up or open RvR.  The Open RvR doesnt feel nearly as good as DaoC though.  You can enter at whatever level you want.  However, I am a lowbie and havent encountered the higher areas.

    Christ back at ya!

Ok so there is a open RvR zone..  What is this getting knocked up stuff?    If I'm lvl 35 can I go into the open RvR zone for a Huge exp bounse for killing mobs?

Edit: ok thanks John, i posted before i read your post..  wish it had open RvR war like DAoC.

    Jeez man...

Yes, it has open RvR areas and if you find a good group you can reasonably participate there from level 3. You get a bolster buff which boosts your base abilities like HP etc to about 3/4 of the max level for that zone but you don't get any additional skills. This doesn't make you imba but it can keep you alive long enough to assist the big boys and make a difference.

You get repeatable PvP quests for both open and instanced RvR. It is possible to level entirely through PvP, even open PvP from level 1.

At the very beginning of the game open RvR is about 20% of the game area and it grows progressively until at endgame pretty much the whole game is open RvR with PvE quests and all kinds of sh*** situated squarely in the middle of the danger zone.

Plz read up just a little bit on the game before you post here demanding answers.

    Zomg!

So DAOC where you have to wait till level cap is more of an open RvR game than WAR which does it from level 1?? In WAR you can conquer the other faction's complete endgame playing area and burn their capital city to the ground while in DAoC you're limited to designated areas that never touch your mainland. How does it even compare?!

    What are you using man?

Oh, if that's what you mean by "open RvR" then yep, there is no "open RvR" in WAR at all. This is definitely not a game for you. In fact I'd really appreciate if you stayed the hell away from it. Maybe you should try PvP servers in WoW? The "open RvR" there can get really sweet - especially in areas like Stranglethorn...

Meh WAR was designed to counter griefers from the beginning. If you are a higher level then intended for the open field RvR area for that tier you will be turned into a chicken making you effectively useless. so even less possibility for ganking. Seeing how you like to kill the lowbies then this game is definitely not for you, because it is very difficult to do so.

Sounds like a Carebear Game for the masses. Its gonna flop.  The world already has one its called WoW.

    Dont need two.

There are Open RvR servers where the only safe haven's are your capital cities and the starter towns. They've made it so that you can go one tier below your levels tier on those servers (Like, in the beginning area, if you hit level 12, you wouldn't be able to RvR there anymore and would have to move on, but on these servers you can go to level 20 or so there) with no level boosting outside of scenarios. So there'll be plenty of ganking.

"Is there a open RVR area like the frontiers in DAoC?"

    Yes.

There are scenarios (like the battlegrounds in games like WoW).  These places are instances.

But, besides these intances, you have regions in each tier where you can just walk and RvR (like the frontiers).

Eahc tier is restricted by ranks (levels) and renown ranks (realm reanks).  In Tier 1, only levels lower than 11 can be in it.  Tier 2 is for the next 10 levels, then Tier 3 for the next 10 levels.

You can think of this places like the battleground in DAoC.

Tier 4 is for lvls 30 to 40 and it's RvR place is WAR's version of DAoC's frontiers (what you called open rvr zone).  The cap here is 40 (not 50).

People got confussed because they obvious dont know DAoC and wanted to answer anyway... and there is a server rule set in war called Open RvR where you are always flaged for RvR.

The enemies can walk into your PvE zones.  And you can engage in RvR with them in a PvE zone.  In a Core Server you have to flag yourself to RvR in a PvE zone but in a Open RvR you are flaged all the time.  Although this is not a Mordred server, you cant PvP your realm mates.  It's just RvR in all the map.

Not sure if I am been enough clear but at your question... yes, there are frontiers here too.

"And now that I think about it, if there is a open world RvR zone, whats the min LvL."

Level 1.  Yes, sounds strange, eh? I think they learned from some mistakes... but I will let you see if you like it when you try it.

"Any exp bounse for leveling in RvR zones? Ect."

None really.  You can level by only PvEing, only RvRing, or a mix.

    But no bonus to nothing.

Ha, you've never really played DAoC have you...?  Never compare WoW to DAoC.  Never.  Never do it again.  That's more horrible than a WoW noob.  Thankyou.
