Will you leave your game for War?

Let me start off by saying, I love WoW. I have played it from the beginning, and I have also quit WoW many, many times. I also love DAoC, and have done the same, many, many times. Played AC, AC2, AoC, EQ, EQ2... etc. But none have grabbed me like WoW and DAoC.

That is until now. I have been in the War beta since way back when Engineers and Warrior Priests were uber wtfpwn Gods (circa Aug 2007). I have seen War go from Meh to its current state. And when I say 'Meh', I really mean 'Meh'. The game has vastly improved since the beginning of CB.

Of coarse it doesn't have the polish of WoW, there is no way that it could at this point. But, I really think that War is gonna be THE game... atleast for me.

So, I am voting yes!

This game seems ok but it still has alot of work to do to even come close to the number of AOC subs or quality. It will probably be better in a few years when it has more time to add content and meaninful PVP. So far the OB has been a disaster and you would think that Mythic would know about MMO's since this is not their first one.

For now I will stay with AOC as it is a much more stable and populated game.

I voted No,  the RvR is to dumbed down, Very carebearish.  I would rather play on gaheris or some wierd pvp text based game.

I am seriously considering it. Currently play LOTRO, but have been bored for a while with that game. The problem is MoM is coming out soon. Maybe I'll have two games  for a bit...not sure.

    WTF?!?!?!? is this a joke!?

Dude.. AOC doens't even run on anything over 2 years old. Has about 200k subs as we speak, and has the most meaningless PVP I ever seen.

Anyways.. back to reality.. .. what were we talking about again?

to even come close to the number of AOC subs?  are you kidding me?  Warhammer already has almost 900k people signed up for beta and AOC's sub numbers last time they were published showd less than half of the purchased boxes are even still playing.

AOC Quality?  I guess we both have different view of quality, but when a company lies to its customer base repeatedly and fails to implement features 4 months after releass that were supposed to be included AT release I guess, yeah you could say AOC is quality.

AOC stable?  Now I know you're kidding me.  1/2 my guild quit because the game had so many memory leak issues that there were people crashing ever hour or multiple times per hour.  The problems only got worse.

AOC more populated?  K, keep dreaming there.  Is that why almost every server has multiple posts about merging servers?

Go back to your single player online game.

wow you fanboys are really sensitive here when someone speaks the truth about the game. People will see soon enough if they havnt already and WAR will be another bargin bin MMO. AOC could teach them a thing about how PVP is supposed to be done.

Not to get more off topic on this post but you have absolutely no idea how many subs that AoC has. Did you just make this number off the top of your head? Or are you using one of those funny foolproof methods of counting players during prime time? Anyway try to avoid posting things that may not be fact  as fact.

Ok back on topic. I currently play Lotro as well and i am still on the fence about WAR. I am definetly going to give it a try and if i like it i guess i will have to subscribe to 2 games for awhile. I think it has a ton of potential and i hope it does very well.

    Have Fun,

Same feeling here. AoC still has its problems, but it's improving nicely.

And AoC had more than 1 million signed up for beta, nice to see WAR is trying to catch up.

I think Protus may be an imitation of an actual Protucs AOC fanatic on the official boards. It seems pretty clear that everything this Protus says could be very much applied to be said of AoC. Therefore I think he is making a mockery of Age of Conan fanboys in a very big way, he doesn't let up in the joke or aknowledge it so it's all the more funny. Just replace everything he says about other games and how they will fail, with Age of Conan and you have the truest words ever spoken. Kudos Protus, on going so far to make a jest.

I seems like people here are always viewing playing games as one OR the other.  I know there are a lot of people that can only afford to pay one subscription at a time, and that's understandable.  But in truth, a lot of MMO gamers spend a lot of time and money in gaming, and that includes multiple subscriptions to different games, or even the same game.

I'm not leaving anything to play WAR, I'm just adding it to my list of games I like to play.  I'll probably crack out on in for a while and then get bored and move to a new game or back to another on my list (which consists of a lot of games).  Then when I feel like playing WAR again, I'll just reactivate my account and pick up where I left off.

I voted never but that is only because I have really never left a game to play another, I have left them when I was bored of them but have also subscribed to more than one mmo at a time(even though I swore I never would) so if it interested me I would give it a try but I'd definitely keep what ever I was playing too.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

wow those are not good numbers for WAR at all once the truth is seen that will be sad.

I currently play EQ2. If WAR proves to be really good after a month or two, I'll consider switching. I keep hearing mixed bags, but EQ2 is a mixed bag in itself, so...

    Currently playing: EverQuest II

Tried: EVE Online (will return someday), Final Fantasy XI (didn't like, sorry)

At the current moment the only MMO I'm currently subscribed to is WoW, and playing on and off. At this point, though I understand what the main focus of this game is and have overall seen that it has some great polish, it doesn't make a difference that I can't tell if I will like this game or not simply because it hasn't released yet. It could be something I subscribe to until something comes out better, or I can end up throwing this in my games drawer, removing it from my hard drive and continue playing WoW. To be honest at the moment there aren't too many promising MMOs so it has a good chance of grabbing my attention for at least a little while, until some newer games start coming out. If there's one thing I know so far, it's that this game is "good" but not "great", at least from my perspective of what I like from an MMO.

I use the fool proof method of logging on and looking. Looking for another player. Even durring peak hours finding another player in AOC is becoming harder and harder. Everywhere i go its the same thing, GHOST TOWN, I dont give two shits what the real number of sub's is, when it feels like im in a singleplayer game its too low.

    BTW , I vote yes

What you should have said was AOC still has alot of work to do even after 4 months of patchs to even come close to the same quality as Warhammer is in right now.

But its spoken like the true AOC fanboi you are glad to see they can still afford to pay you.

What they got about 50k- 100k subs now, thats a really big success. And dont even use quality with AOC or Funcom since there obviously is no meaning to quality at funcom, saw that first hand from playing for 3  months.

What do you vote for when you aren't playing an MMO?  I havnen't played one for a few months now.  Before that it was a month of CoH, a month of EQ2, a few months of WoW, a month of AoC.

Maybe I'm a professional game switcher.

Edit:  AoC has really nice graphics besides that I thought it was mediocre.

Responding to the thread above, I have to say yes, and no. Me and my wife actively play Final Fantasy XI, but I will play Warhammer Online when she doesnt want to play. Its a fun game, and im enjoying Open Beta ATM =)

Waiting for a different game is what I picked, what a tempting choice.

However, not playing a game at the moment until my 3 other choices come out. Have warhamme pre-ordered and will be playing it until that time comes to get one of those other games im waiting on...which should be end of this year / next year.
