Scout Question

MaselocMaseloc Member Posts: 175
Hello, I have a question about scouts in EQ2. I know they are AGI based but what i was wondering is, does STR matter? The reason i ask this is because i want to be an evil class, but ratongas have really low starting STR. So for me its either start with the ratonga anyways or use a halfling and do the betrayel quest. Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

In general terms, STR is a very beneficial 2ndary stat, unsure as to what exactly the effects of EQ II will be. Someone in Beta may have a better description for ya. For ranged weapons, Str generally doesn;t help, but if you will use melee weapons, the benefits are highly useful for Spd/Dmg... Curious to hear more myself..  thx

I think i read something somewhere about STR increasing melee damage a bit for rogues. Not sure though.

We are not allowed to comment on specific game mechanics if in Beta, and MMORPG have stated that they will uphold the NDA. :/

Considering that all of the races with high starting AGI also start out with low STR I don't think STR will affect a Scout who chooses to play those races very much at all.  Sure, it might affect damage to some small amout but I wouldn't worry about it since you can also wear STR jewelry if you feel your Ratonga needs some more muscle. image

Strength doesn't matter that much for scout. They rely more on agility, and ratongas fit the role perfectly for scout.

Str doesnt make a big difference but it helps. You dont get to add stats to your character anyway. They have a set amount and then you can build up from there.
