EQ1 - EQ2 Model Compare.

I don't know about the rest of you but I like to have a character that is pleasing to the eye or at least like a certain look for my characters, depending on class. I found when choosing a race alot had to do with the actual choices of models or customization. Ive always had set races I'd play in eq and some I wouldnt touch cause I thought they looked terrible...the erudite model being one...eww!

Now i'm hoping they have more options than whats on the cc disk cause from what i've seen of each of the models it looks a bit disapointing. Though there are some models that I find amazing looking that I would have never considered playing in eq one being the gnome.

I made up this list below comparing eq 1 and eq2 models and judged them from 1-10 by which ones seemed the most pleasing to the eye and which ones I'll most likely play because of looks. I wanna see what you guys thought about the different models, what we got coming now and in comparison to eq live.

Gnome

It's funny...I wanted to play a wizard in eq, my first choice for wizard of course the Erudite till I seen how ugly the models were so I settled for the DE which seemed nice. Now I can finally have an Erudite wizard...thankfully cause I really don't care for how the DE's look so far and probably won't play one.

Might want to specify if you mean Pre-Luclin models or not. My opinions completely changed after that expansion. Now it's been so long since I've played that I barely remember some of the models.

Right, never even though of that....I quit shortly after the updated models so I guess i'd specify it being pre-luclin....you could still score the post-luclin models.

I can't believe you gave the regular gnome models a 2! lol
Anyway, as you can see, I don't think any models in game are so spectacular as to deserve a 9 or 10. They coulda done a lot better on all of them IMO. =/.

I think all of the EQ2 models look better than the EQ1 models, especially the Wood Elves and the Erudites.  Wood Elves, IMHO, are the best looking race in EQ2.  Erudites have changed significantly, receiving a complete upgrade and they now look much more unique.  Gone are those humungous heads and the close resemblance to humans!

I agree with you Versaint about the models. Other than the gnomes ewww! lol. It was looking great when they had the e3 videos and the customization on there seemed quite a bit better than it is now. Still too early to tell untill I actually get my hands on the actual game. Though putting so much into it I think they should have done more for customization I find alot of the models look the same, or very similar.
