~*House Amaranthine*~ An Elven Roleplaying Guild (Qeynos)

am·a·ran ·thine -- adj. "Eternally beautiful and unfading; everlasting."

She knew she was dreaming, and yet it seemed so real... Tunare stood before her in all her glory. She had the hazy quality of a dream around her, but it only served to make her even more beautiful. Jessamyn blinked twice, then fell to her knees before the goddess she had served for so long. Tunare reached down with the most gentle smile the elf had ever seen, and silently bade her to rise. She spoke then in a voice that embodied all that was good in the world.

"A time of great opportunity is at hand... and a time of great danger. All that has happened over the centuries has ruined so much of the lands, but now it is the hearts and very souls of my creations which are at stake. Buildings can be rebuilt, things remade -- but the evil that grows now destroys absolutely."

Tunare reached within the folds of her robe and handed Jessamyn a flower of the deepest purple-red. The elf had never seen anything like it.

"This is the amaranth... fabled flower of legend, whose bloom never fades -- as with my beautiful children. You must gather them, little one... light a lantern that shines through the darkness and glows within each of your hearts. You must not let what used to be, die forever. What was once, for my beautiful elves, can be again. Drive the evil from these lands and regain what was yours."

Her image began to shimmer and flicker, and her voice floated on the warm breeze as it drifted away.

"Find them... grow strong together... and I shall be watching you..."

Jessamyn woke with a start in her bed, the dream still burning bright behind her eyes. She shook her head to clear it, and marveled at a dream of such clarity, blaming it on the wine she had before bed. She raised her hand to brush her hair back from her face, and something caught her eye. Her fingers had a light dusting of yellow powder, and it looked just like pollen...

We are an Elven guild, seeking to reclaim and celebrate all that makes up our fine heritage. We have been thrown together with all manner of survivors of the Shattering, and we work hard to aide Antonia Bayle in keeping Qeynos free and thriving, but we most long to rediscover our homelands and our heritage. We serve Tunare with all our hearts, and believe she has been silenced against her will. We seek to drive evil out of the fair lands, and prevent Lucan D'Lere from gaining a greater stronghold. And we strive to do all this as like a family... together through laughter and sorrow, joy and pain. Each flame joined together creates a light greater than the sum of the parts, and we carry that light into the darkness.

/OOC ON

The core of this guild is roleplaying -- it is a joy and a passion to us, not a chore or an inconvenience. We are an Elven guild, good of heart, welcoming Fier'dal, Koada'dal, and Ayr'dal. The guild is based in the Central time zone, and we will focus on exploring, fun, adventure, fun, community service, social events, and lots of fun. *smile* This is no raiding guild, no uber loot guild, no powergamer guild. We will hunt and be hunted, and encounter wonder and terrible things; we will not lack for excitement. But there will plenty of mirth and mayhem as well. *grin*

We have no restrictions on minimum level, and we do not worry about having certain numbers of specific professions. Everyone is valuable. But we do require that members be 18 years or older. If you are under 18, and still wish to apply, you may petition for special consideration -- but know that it will be much harder to attain membership.

We do not accept everyone -- guild numbers are not important to us. The application period is approx. 2 weeks, during which the applicant is expected to get involved with and become familiar with the guild members and our style, ingame and in the forums. When someone is accepted, they know it is because they are truly valued -- not because the guild needed a tailor or whatnot. It is worth it.
