Questions about pre-order, beta access, and CE head-start

Alright, I've been in beta for a little while.  I stopped playing close to the end of last month so I can save some excitement for release.  I'm considered to have Closed beta access, and can log in and play right now with the client I have.  I also pre-ordered the CE from my local Best Buy, and have all of that info logged in and activated for the items and Ce head-start program.

Now, the questions.  Since you can't ask questions on the Mythic boards anymore (stupid if you ask me), I'm coming here to ask.

1.  Since the game isn't actually released until next week, I would assume you have to use the current client to play in the head-start.  Is this right?  Or do I need to DL an entirely new client?  In otherwords, what do I need to do further to be prepared for Sunday?

2.  When is the game actually going to be on the shelf at Best Buy?  If official start-date for the servers is the 18th, then why does Gamestop have it listed as shipping on the 16th, and Best Buy receiving on the 17th?  I feel it's extremely important I get a definate answer on this, as I do not trust my Best Buy to NOT sell my CE edition to some common walk-in.  They usually just put up the CE's on the shelf next to the regular game.  When AoC came out, this was exactly how it was.  I spent the previous 3 days calling every store trying to get a CE pre-order, and everyone said they were sold out.  Went to Best Buy the morning of relase, and there were 3 sitting on the shelf.  If I see my CE sitting on the shelf, I'll be pretty damn pissed.  So, advice please.

Thanks.

    1. If you are using the current OB client, or one that works with OB and is still able to be patched, then it should still work for launch.

    2. After head start ends, you  need to input your retail key and billing information into your account. Your pre-order should have a head start code with it, that will work until the 18th. Some retailers are selling the game early to help players continue right on the 18th when retail goes live.

Not sure if this helps but as far as the client i got this from the Warhammer Website:

"Make sure you've used your Open Beta code to download the client from FilePlanet and have registered your Head Start code in the Mythic Account Center so you don't miss a minute of action!"

I'm guessing this means that you just have to use the current beta client (Which i've kept up to date with the updates on mine lol).

WAR EU is only for the EU players. I am not sure if there are Best Buys and GameStops in EU. Furthermore you cant really trust WAR EU information as its given by GOA, which is making mistakes left and right.

from the GOA site, I think its safe to say this is true for both NA and EU

Those of you who played the open beta will be able to use the same client for the head start.

the Herald will be posting more details tomorrow (Saturday)

Yes, you can use the current client to continue post launch.  It will patch into the accurate version.

as for your bestbuy, perhaps call them up and ask them if they will be keeping reserved copies behin the counter for people to pick up.  The actual "Launch Date" is the 18th.  I would suggest you go in on the 18th.  As there were a limited number produced, there will only be a limited amount shipped to your local store.  You could request them to hold yours behind the counter also.  My local store is good about that sort of thing.  "Hey, I am working all day and won't be able to pick up my copy until late evening.  Can someone be sure to hold my copy at the customer service counter so it does not get picked up by accident" simple enough.

    Best reply here.

Anyway, to clarify, I have already entered in my codes for head-start, etc.  Everything is set to go.  I went to Best Buy tonight to see how they are going to handle this issue.  They assured me that ALL pre-orders go behind the customer service desk and will only be available to those with receipts of pre-order.  I got them to re-print my old pre-order receipt just to make sure I had it.   It should be ok then. :)  However, if for some reason they screw this up, heads will roll....    www.coldsteel.com  :)
