I'd check on the official site, but they don't seem to have anything more than a marketing cover up there.
It looks to me like their management team have set things up to keep the players as far away from any kind of support as they can. I know that's not a fair way to judge a game - the devs might have done a great job, but I'm never going to know.
If you sub to a game, you're putting months, if not years, of cash into a gaming experience. This looks like one of those Vanguard-style if it works you're fine, if it doesn't, fuck you sort of schemes.
Player support is important. This game doesn't appear to have any.
My suggestion : Stay the hell away from this for a year or two until the devs have ironed out the major problems, and see if it's still around. I'm not convinced it will be.

    Hmm..

Well considering most people have gotten in, it doesn't seem like a complete failure.

I mean if you were smart enough to keep your code somewhere safe, like they had advised, and not forgotten your password.

You can't blame your own problems on someone else.

Also, just because you cnanot get into the game, doesn't mean people should stay away from this game, they are using the same account management website as they have used for all their games, like DAoC, so it has been tested, also there are no major problems to speak of, the game has a few minor bugs that crept in last patch, that they will have ironed out for launch.

    Have fun missing out.

I agree totally. WARcrasher as i have dubbed this debacle, doesnt even run stable on my new machine. I experienced 10 crash to desktops and one requiring a FULL REBOOT. This crap is sad from Mythic.

Also the numerous animation glitches and constant PvP lag make the game unplayable. Stay clear people, maybe try AoC if your looking for a fun game.

Look, if it works relatively well on 7899545363 machines, and like 1% of them it does not, then we simply chalk that up to poorly configured rig's (i.e. hardware discrempancies, hardware conflicts, driver issues, etc) or defective hardware.

Regardless, I hope you get it working properly.

Reasonable assumption, most of the time when something doesn't work it' *is* something stupid I've done. However, I clearly remember both passwords I used for the master account and game account I set up (can't remember which one was for which though, but they don't work either way round :), and I've tried resetting them online too.

    Still no joy.

Lorenz0's right, the few % that always fails is generally down to bad config. In this case though, it's not that the game doesn't work, it's the account management.

Anyway, it sounds like the majority of players are getting in fine. My first post was slightly flamish*.and for that I apologise. You know what it's like when you have a beta key and you can't use it, especially when you're sick of $MMO and you really want a new one.

Hope you're all having fun in there. I'm not bitter in the slightest. I take solace in the fact that while you're all spending time in WAR, I'll be laying waste to hitherto unknown names in the next gen MMO and I'll be there and l33t before you arrive. :P

Funny how AoC runs perfectly on MAX settings. Sounds like bad coding?  with only days left from retail release, good luck everyone trying it out. As i have mentioned before i've have canceled my WAR pre-order based on my beta experience.

I didn't know War threatened WoW kiddies too much. After all, all they want is grinding for gear that will be obselete in the next big patch. It's good to see that they are "really" scared.

Good job Mythic, hopefully WoW's reign is coming to an end!

those who are in beta are smart enough to read the instruction and having a great time now...
well, im really sad for you, probably you need a basic tutorial on how to read instruction.

hahahaha..wow your are, by far, the coolest person in the world.  Going online to a MMORPG forum website, findind a post posted by someone who doesn't post alot.  And call him a noob! Calling someone a noob as one of the coolest things you can do just by itself, but calling them a noob because they are a "novice poster" ....its just....hahahha.

No Game and I mean NO Game will kill WoW. I have never played WoW but I know this much no game kills another one. The players that play WoW like it, and there not going to all just get up and quit for some other game. Most players have put in to much time and money to just quit to go play another game.

lol you're so comical. Have fun with the 19 other people that play AoC.  In the end, the playerbase doesn't lie, and as I recall AoC lost almost 50% of their subscribers in the first month of official release, and their stocks dropped dramatically.  This type of decline is difficult to restore, losing that many subscriptions at once is not only a marketing nightmare, but a financial one as well.

Mythic has already developed their RvR system with DoaC, which was for it's time, a pretty good success.  Now that WoW has set a new standard in MMO's, WAR has focused on a balanced PvP/RvR system which they have already mastered with DoaC, and added similar concepts which WoW brought to the table (and some of those concepts were actually introduced by other games before them).

Oh and by the way, please list your spec's on your rig.  I previously tried AoC for a week or so, and on the highest settings I had a relatively low frame rate in most battles or  clustered area's.  Strangely enough, on medium settings, the game ran even worse, and this was tested on over 6 different types of workstaitons and gaming rig's.  We've actually run benchmarks on this game, with both nVidia and ATi technologies and the scores were not so good for the current hardware in the market.  Not unless you are willing to dish out over $9,000 in parts.  This is another reason why AoC has not done so well, because the higher the system requirements are, the more narrow your prospected target market will become.

    My rig:

-AMD true Quad Core Phenom 2.8GHz/core

    -8GB DDR2 RAM

    -WD VelociRaptor 10K RPM RAID0

    - ATi 4870 DDR5 xFire

    -Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate

And see, what's good now, heart in hand and happy to be.  I knows my own nose, and that's true RPG.

But Age of Conan?  Grimming hard and low to my ear.

So if Choice is hallway noise, then I pray and pray.  Who is the all in we all were waiting - then if all, who were we waiting for?

The online water is hard.  The online war harder still.  I be so happy when the plane that is a good MMO finally lands.

Thank you, my tuna for your love in Asheron's Call.  Those were good days filled with YOGURT.
