Hay I started playing my first mmorpg when i was 8 or something, that game was runescape,

plz dont bash me about how bad it is but back then on runescape c it was very good.

Since then I have not found a game like runescape that I have been addicted to.

Runescape was good because it had a lot to do loads of kl skills.

I played runescape for a couple of years i have played no other game 2 this day for that long.

I have tried:

WoW

Flyff

Guildwars

Anarchy

VC

and many others.

plz may some1 reconmend me a game that is good 2 play for a long time and doesn't get boring quick

Thanks for reading.

It's hard to recommend a game if we don't know what types of gameplay you like.

LotRO is a great mainly PVE, story-driven game, especially if you're into Tolkien lore.  It does get old pretty quick though, but mainly because there is really no gameplay innovation in it.

Eve is a great sandbox, PVP and resource management game.

Recent reports indicate that Vanguard is much better than it used to be, but still a serious grinder.

WAR is supposedly a really nice PVP-focused MMO that sticks to the traditional MMO formula (unlike Eve)

I've heard Ryzom is actually pretty good, but who knows.  It's free for now, so try it out.

While I know you already gave EVE Online a go, I have to say giving it a second chance is a good idea. Me, my brother, and a bunch of my oldest EVE friends only got into it on our second free trial, because the learning curve is steep as you know. The skill system may fool you into thinking it will take a long time, but you can be PvPing against small ships in a week.

Having said that I'd suggest trying EQII, yeah WoW completely beat it in terms of players, but I was there for a bit and it still has some people, as well as an interesting combat system. It's not great, but not terrible either.

Oh, and you said you'd try out Darkfall, you can sign up for the beta now on their site. I suggest you do so.

People have different tastes but since you're asking fore what we found addicting/fun here my short list (played to many of by now lol)

Lineage 2: played it for 2 yrs. yes its a grind, yes the economy is a nightmare (though i heard they have gotten better in those 2 areas as of the last expansion), but i loved the clan pvp and the FFA pvp. It has amazing landscapes/soundtrack/art concept. If oyu find a nice clan to hang with the game becomes a blast to play.

EvE: Been playing this since 06. For many its a slow start but it has increduble depth. Again the key in this game is to find a good player run corp/alliance that will help you get started. My advice isd to try all aspects of the game since variety will help keep your attention more. DO NOT mine for 5 hours straight or something like that, its damn boring, just like id advice against missions whoring for a whole day ull get brain cancer. Pvp is-imo-unparalleled.

Ryzom: just started out a few weeks ago when they reopened the game. The envinoment feels alive (weather/seasonal changes), the animals also feel like they have AI for a change lol. Skill customization is a good perk as well as the ability to play as anything and everything you choose w/o having to reroll. You cannot gimp your char in this game.

Ninja edit: If you play EvE mail me (rehmes) ingame ill answer w/e questions you have. If you play Ryzom Message (remnest).

Hey so for the beta all you have to do is register on the forums, then go sign up on their beta page. My advice, go to the link for the beta I'm about to give you, then click the register now button, register on the forums, then go back to the link and sign up for beta. And no, a clan isn't required.

Why am I helping people compete for my beta seat? *sigh* :)

help im signing up for darkfall.

now it wants me 2 do a DXDIAG attachment what is this????

  • IsikariIsikari Member Posts: 64

Don't worry willo, that's totally ok. Basically follow their instructions, DXDiag is just a diagnostic tool that takes stats on your computer. For example, your cpu speed, video card, audio card, etc. etc. Once you run dxdiag (Which comes pre-installed on XP/Vista) and save the info like they tell you, you can even open up the text file and look at the information if you want.

They want to test their beta client on a variety of platforms, so this tells them what kind of machine you have. It's all legit.
