You need a buddy key from someone with an active subscription, they charge you $3 to download the client, and it's only good for 3 days.

I was curious too... but thats a lot to ask for what ive heard only bad things about...
Guess this game just wasnt ment to be.
10 days, its good for 10 days when you download and $3, if you borrow the install DVD's from someone, then its 7 days and free

I have a friend and he is enjoying playing it and from what i have saw from videos isn't a bad game at all.
So i will give it a try. ^_^

last I knew you were required to submit credit card info to start the 'free' trial, do yourself a favor and make sure you delete that information or you will be 'accidentally' subject to additional charges like so many other have.
Don't waste your time its not even worth playing for free.

It's certainly worth a try, even if you only go as far as the initial adventures at Tortage. If you like story driven MMO's like LOTRO you will absolutly like the first parts of AoC after that it converts to a more classic style MMO.
Sure, the game has some issues and some of the players feels cheated for diffrent reasons, but it's still a very solid game out there if you have the hardware for it.
Some? Thats making it look better than it is. Please be truthfull to potential new players.
If you make the game sound better than it is, then yet another potential player will feel disapointed pretty soon.
Half the players that bought the game feel cheated for different reasons. 800k sold, 400k still subscribing after 3 months. Do you think those 400k quit for any other reason than to feel cheated or be imensely disapointed with the game?
If you lvl fast you could hit 80 in 7 days and not bother paying for that extra month. There really isnt anything to do past that point.

Can I become invisible in the game? yes, but everyone can see you

I keep getting an Out of memory error and my client crashes, how can I fix this? Reboot your computer every 15 minutes should solve this issue. We have been working hard on this issue since launch. When the game launched, you could only play 5 mins before rebooting.. We've actually tripled that time in only 3 months of patches.
Can I capture enemy battlekeeps? yes, but you can't capture them.
Can I kill endgame raid bosses? Definitely. We even added an extra level of difficulty. You have to make sure you kill them when a GM isn't around, since most of them can only be killed with exploits, and the mean GMs will ban you for that
Can other players one-shot kill me? Not if you one-shot kill them first. Try hunting at graveyards.
Not like i don't lije the game, but.... theat "thark" guy reminds me of one of the devolopers.

It amazes me the beating that this game takes hourly on these and other forums. I really have never seen anything like this before. Its as if someone kicked the wall and out came all the roaches. Just shut the %$@&; up and play another game if you dont like this one.
Every single player and computer is different, you can either understand that and realize that it is not as bad out there for everyone else as it is for you or I can tell you my computer specs and say that I have no problems with the game, and that you must be a total Tard if you can't make it work on your (assumably) superior Rig..

Which is a purely biased statement from a sour roach. You obviously have some issue with something in the game.
SO I rebuttled with how I see a huge hatred for this game that I have not seen before.
I know that one of the key complaints about the game is the fact that it is difficult to run on many machines, and who knows, maybe the 400k that left had machines far below my specs.
So you see I gave factual reference to the fact that my game works GREAT.. on a factual machine spec.
Why are you still here spouting your BS without any facts? Why are you one of the sour roaches?

SInce you still hang onto the hope that the 400k number is correct I would have to question the validity of your post and lable it as fanboi hopefullness.

I enjoy the game, no fanboi, I dont post and brag, I dont post and bash any game,
I actually just check these forums to see how high the pvp scores are in the MMORPG forum Game. And I see AOC getting ganked left and right..
I'm gonna giggle though just a little bit when this game gets over the hump. If you weren't just a hater you might actually hope that the game that I am playing will succeed so that I may have a good time. Just go on to your game and have your good time.

The question every person who think about trying this game is "Do I reroll every time I hit max lvl?". Cause that is what you will be doing. There is either no endgame or its not working or not fun at all in AoC. Even fans of the game, like myself was in the beginning, come to the conclusion that there is no reason to keep playing it.
It doesnt matter how much you love the game if it takes 5min at lvl80 to run out of things to do. The guild I was playing with disbanded three days ago. They were one of the biggest on the server and they had so many "fanbois" in it, that even when I loved the game myself I couldnt believe how much they were crazy about it. I left the game after 1.5 weeks, that was how long it lasted for someone, who at the time, played 10h per day.
The game has been out for soon 4 months and there is absolutely nothing added that will keep people having fun at endgame. I'm not gonna go into what other crap design this game also have, just that the people who consider trying it should know that no matter how fun you think it is when you start, you will either have to reroll or quit after you hit 80. The PvP patch aint gonna change the fact that the classes are so unbalanced it's not really up to you if you win or lose.
You should see this as a single player game with multiplayer possibilities. Then ask yourself, am I prepared to pay a monthly fee for that type of game? Hopefully you arent and wont with this game. It's not worth a monthly fee at its current state.
The final thing to ask yourself is whether you think it's worth paying $50 to play through what might give you quite many hours of fun, but then it becomes your average single/multiplayer game, except that you still have to pay to play it.
Also to all those that consider buying it cause it has very nice graphics. I think you, as myself, stop thinking about how the graphics is looking after 10h of playing. I hate the WoW cartoon graphics, I hate the WAR graphics, but I've been playing WoW for years cause rest of the game is fun and I'm gonna play WAR now aswell cause so far it's pretty fun, at least the PvP. It's better to hate the graphics and love the game than love the graphics and hate the game.
Try getting a trial and see for yourself if you like the game or not.
