It's like the Librams of Insight, the item that comes with CE.
That's great that you get an in game item. I have bought so many of these guides and have a library of guides for different games. I never got an item for one before. Problem is though, you usually know all the info that's in them in the first month of play anyway.. So it becomes Bathroom literature when you take a break from the game..
available in store or pre order?
It's pre-order because it comes out when the game does. I think it's available anywhere you can get the game and strategy guides.
Its accually released, just went to my local gamestop and bought one
buying a strategy guide for an MMO makes absolutely no sense to me... just my oppinion of course!

I bought the world of warcraft strategy guide when I picked up the game....what a waste of money. I mean honestly, mmorpgs update and change so much over time that some of the info in the guides becomes useless. Not to mention the huge amount of info you can find online. I would save your money if you are thinking about getting a strategy guide for war.
I just saw pre-order on one site and assumed...
Bathroom reading. Or when the electricity/internet is out. I don't buy them that often but if I really like the game, if I know I'll be playing it a while, I like to have the guide on-hand for whatever reason. Even once all the information goes out of date the character/class/location/lore descriptions are still a decent read.
but the whole point of playing an MMORPG is to experience and discover the world yourself... not to be told where to level and farm by professional powergamers....

Guys I have the strategy guide right here! Let me read it to you in its entirety:
Run to your death, respawn, repeat ad infinitum.
MMO strategy guides rarely have that kind of stuff anyway. The info they get is from the Devs, and since MMOs are so liquid up til and through launch it's not like they can write any step by step guide.
It's more ability lists, mob/zone levels and descriptions, class and race text, gameplay pointers, UI tips, etc.
Any MMO strat guide I've seen has basically been a glorified game manual, rather than a "go here, then do this, then that, in this order, to win."
